Searing heat burned down over her shoulders making her skin tingle with it’s fiery kiss as she stretched out across the long park bench, pulling both of her slender legs up in front of her, hearing her spine pop and click, feeling it elongate comfortably and satisfyingly. Gia had been seated here for the last hour or so, simply enjoying the blistering weather as best she could, her figure hugging tank top the least she could wear without flashing scars. Her legs were wrapped in thin skinny jeans which were odd in this heat and people gave her more than a couple of looks for her attire but she knew that the burns would be worse to display.
She’d been hoping that they would heal up with time, that they would disappear and fade as so many scars did but they hadn’t yet and it had already been a few years. Maybe wolfsbane wounds would never heal, that was a worrying thought. She considered asking one of the older lycans, maybe one of the purebloods that had lived so much longer would be willing to tell her but she’d have to catch one at the right time, better not to piss one of her superiors off after all. She felt like everyone was a superior these days, if she had an ambitious bone in her body it would have pissed her off and she would be trying to rise up the ranks but weirdly she was pretty comfortable where she was, she did a vital job that not many others could do and it was enough for her.
Slowly, Gia slipped off the sandals she was wearing, shoving them under the bench next to her back and leaned down, wrapping her fingers around the netbook she had taken with her. She had a lot of data stored on this thing, a lot of very sensitive data that she didn’t like to leave lying around, even in the pack territory she was careful of it. After all she had more than a little information about her brothers and sisters on here too. It was always a good idea to keep a database of those around you, even your friends because who knew when you might need it to save their lives. Or at least that was what she told herself.
Flipping open the tiny laptop she started typing quickly, her fingers flying over the keyboard with speeds that only the fastest of typists could match, working on a little piece of malware she had been teaching herself to code these last few weeks. She realised that there was so much she could learn if she only went about it in other ways and so she’d taken up programming. After all she had watched the development of computers, used the first of them and her knowledge was pretty superior even to those nerds around these days. If she was a human she would have taken up a job as a hacker or something, but as a lycan there really wasn’t much use for that unless it was to find a target or watch the vampires.
The fucking vampires, shit was going to spiral if everyone wasn’t careful. Suddenly the humans seemed to be getting better and better at killing them, both vampires and lycans were getting easier and easier for humans to hunt. She couldn’t help but think that maybe it was a mistake to be providing them with the tech that they’d been developing. It needed testing and all but the hunters that were doing it could try and turn it against them at any time, in fact it seemed like they already were somehow or another. Arming the cattle seemed like a bad idea, then again she was just a pack member and there were blatant reasons for that, strategy was not her strong point when it came either to war or maintaining peace.
Sighing she took a sip from the swiftly cooling coffee beside her, ignoring the scorching of her shoulders as the sun already started to colour her translucent skin. There was the barest hint of breeze here in the park and the teenagers and joggers alike were out in force to enjoy the good weather. She could see couples and groups scattered all over the grass, smell their perfume and their products. If it hadn’t been for the breeze it might have been stifling to her but thankfully the wind brought the scent of trees, of squirrel and of cars, it brought all kinds of scent to her super acute nose and she was revelling in it. She might not like the hot weather but days like this were to be enjoyed… if only she didn’t have to get herself together. She knew what was coming soon.

King's landing, a fitting place for an Alpha to roam or at least the name was, by day it was a place where the cattle allowed their children to roam the grassy planes, at night it was a whole other animal. At night, the kids toys and sports gave way to drug dealers and gangs that stalked the night hoping to prey on the defenceless, none of them aware of the truly dark entities that hid under the cover of darkness. His eyes scanned the park as the blistering heat attempted to boil him inside his skin, he couldn't help but feel amused at the sight of his guards attempting to blend in. Three heavily muscled men draped in black suits, they must have been the only people suffering worse than Viktor. Although he himself had chosen more suitable attire, wearing a giants shirt and jeans matched with a Yankee's cap that kept the sun's rays from his eyes, whilst hiding his identity from any prying eyes. He knew that the vampires couldn't venture out during the day, but the new enemy was on the horizon, hunters hiding amongst the cattle, he had recently found intel about one in particular recently.
The intel was the reason that Viktor found himself roaming amongst the sheep, he had learned to suppress his hunger a long time ago, unlike some of the younger members of his pack. He was here to meet one of his scouts, he trusted her more than the rest of his network and he would have to trust her once more with the task he had in mind. He had been told of one particular hunter who was known to run his mouth more than he should when consuming alcohol, it was a habit that most humans shared and one he was keen to take advantage of. The hunter in particular had talked about some of his kills and usually they would have been wrote off as nothing more than hyperbole and boasting but it coincided with a few disappearances. Usually someone that high up would have gotten Vik's personal attention, tortured for days on end until they begged for the end and then tortured some more. Of course he was a renowned ladies man or to be more blunt, he thought and acted with his dick, which is why he needed a woman for the mission he had in mind, a honey trap.
He spotted Georgia sitting on her computer on a bench, no doubt searching the net for details on various targets or on the other hand, sitting on forums chatting it up with the meat bags. It mattered not of course, as he made his approach he noticed his guards take positions at various points of the park. They had managed to strategically close off exit points whilst still maintaining visual contact, they had been trained well. Viktor sat down on the bench next to her and immediately opened his news paper and began reading, the two of them could talk discreetly in the open, only those who paid close attention would realise what was going on. "What a pleasant day. Have you found out anything else about our friend? Would sure be nice to get to know the fellow better." He smirked from behind the business sheets, as he fained an interest in the dealings of the humans, of course his own company was on the rise, but that was to be expected with their recent technological developments.

She felt him coming, long before he sat down she felt the tingle running down her spine that signalled to her to beware. It wasn’t that she was… afraid of him as such… no that was a lie, she was downright afraid of him, he was her alpha and he commanded fear and respect, there was no denying it. She could smell the scent of wolf on the air, even in human form her supersensitive nose picked it out easily, the scent of dominance poured from Viktor is waved that almost made her shiver. The wolf inside her instinctively longed to crouch down, lower it’s head and drop it’s tail between it’s legs. The pack master might pass for human, he might seem human to every person there as he sat down and started flicking through the paper but she felt his presence like electricity.
Alphas words were law. Alphas might as well be kings to their packs, gods even…
Instantly she flicked from the program that she had been writing on to the research she had been doing a few hours ago, pulling out a small usb pen and plugging it in, connecting to the wifi over the city, it went almost everywhere and just for a few low dollars a month she could access it and it was very very useful. Her eyes scanned over the page, the print small and difficult for anyone to read unless they came right up close, she scanned through the relevant facts, the things she could scrape from cell companies, the ways to keep up to date, his bills, everything, she’d been through it all and had what was important here.
”Oh sure, I managed to dig up a few things, nothing too fascinating but enough. There’s a few pages of what I thought relevant in my pack, just underneath you.” She kept her eyes scanning over the computer, the fact was this was probably being all too cautious, this meeting in public and yet keeping their topic hidden but this was something neither of them wanted to get caught for. Gia had so many aliases but they would all burn in the wake of a hunter’s wrath and if it got out she could track them down to their houses, leave them weak and malleable to werewolves they’d hunt her down as fast as all hell and she knew it. Never rise above your station, don’t draw attention to yourself; two important rules she lived her life by, everything for the pack but you couldn’t help them dead.
Unlike some wolves she wasn’t convinced of her own invincibility, she knew just how fallible she was, how easily she could die particularly now, any hunter that was aware could try his hand and maybe he’d get lucky, that would be all he’d need. She could escape almost anyone on the rooftops but the problem with running was that you had to keep running. No, better to keep out of sight.
Picking up her coffee she sipped it lightly and glanced up briefly from her screen, she could see the guards that stood around the park, watching without watching and she could see the humans moving around them quietly. ”I’ve got his usual address, as well as a few club pictures I found him in the background of, I can track his cell but I don’t know how long he’ll keep that number, it was hell to get.” She explained briefly, just going over the details that had been printed out in the little folder.
”By the way, there’s been a bit of interesting news running around the internet. There’s been a series of deaths going on, been attributed to rabid strays in the park. It’s caught the eye of some… people online… and they’re running with the story. Thought I’d mention it, someone’s getting careless, about those dogs I mean… letting them out.” She glanced up very briefly, her eyes gazing at her alpha for the smallest of instants before she returned them to her screen. Right now being a wolf would have been very comforting.

Viktor mused at the paper, if he didn't know better himself he would have believed that he was reading the black and white blur in front of him. None of it held his interest half as much as the information that Geo would have for him. Against some of the elder's wishes he had begun leaning on her for information, they preferred to keep it in house and rely on the word of the pure bloods, a notion that Viktor dismissed. He had embarrassed those members of his pack who were once human centuries ago, rather than be stuck in the past like the remaining originals. He welcomed every Lycan into his fold until they crossed him or the pack, then they were dead to him, in most cases quite literally. Once he had dismissed their concerns most of them fell into line, he saw Geo's potential for scouting information the second she was introduced to him. She was an attractive young woman, the kind who could easily gain access to places that he or his fellow pure bloods could not but it was her fascination with technology that had drew his attention.
He had caught her many times, completely oblivious to everything around her, obsessing over one of her computer screens. Viktor himself was useless when it came to technology, he could barely work his phone and yet even he could see the benefits of embracing the technological age, hell it's what he had built his empire on. She had fed him a lot of information since he assigned her to be one of his scouts, most of it had proven fruitful so when he learned that one of the hunters were sniffing around his pack, it was her that he turned to. He had sought her out even before some of the pureblood elders, he knew she would be discreet about dealing with the issue. She hadn't let him down either, she had managed to grab his address and even his cell number. He wasn't surprised but he was certainly pleased with her progress, the only question was how would she react to the next task he had for her, it was a little outside her comfort zone but he was certain she could handle it. He was about to bring up the next part of her task when she revealed some information that she had received from the forums as she called them.
It was disturbing to say the least, here he was worrying about a hunter when it seemed that there was one of his own doing their damndest to draw attention to his people. It was something that he would have to squash early on. " Don't worry about the park, I'll handle that personally, let's see if we can't tame the dog first, if not I guess we'll have to have it put down. " It wasn't a thought he liked, he took no joy in killing one of his own but it was his duty, he would always choose protecting the pack over the life of one or two wild dogs. He saw it as they had chosen their own ends the second they betrayed the pack, especially if it was someone that he had embraced as one of his own, it was the ultimate betrayal. "Back to our other friend, the one with a penchant for booze, I have another favour to ask of you. Feel free to decline it if you wish, but you're the only one that I think is suited to the task and more importantly that I can trust."
He turned the page and pretended to pay attention to the paper once more as some passer by's roamed too close. Once they had passed he continued " I need you to get close to him, perhaps too close but I think it's time I meet this friend of ours. Perhaps you could lead him to a particular spot for us and initiate the meeting, on our terms of course. So Geo would that be something that you could do?" There was no intended pressure, he would be fine if she chose to turn him down but he hoped she would accept.

Gia had been more than a little concerned admittedly as she had brought up the rumours, she had of course checked that they had some truth to them, checked that there had indeed been killings in the park, dog attacks. She was an avid attendee on around twenty supernatural forums, as well as following almost sixty supernatural based blogs, various ‘news’ sites and a few other things. She’d written a few algorithms to process the news but it still took up a few hours every morning to read through things and sort out any important information. It might seem like a pointless habit but when she didn’t have a target or something else to do she figured that she might as well focus on something, do her best for the pack, she owed them her life.
When her packmaster confirmed that he would deal with the attacker she nodded slightly, the barest motion of her head that set her hair wobbling, bright spikes dancing around her features as once more she focussed on her screen and flicked a few things through, finding the information again. Not that she had anything to add, the fact that the alpha was going to deal with it was enough for her, now that he knew it was up to him to decide what to do, she had done her part in telling him. ”Any sensible dog knows when they’re beat, I’m sure you’ll succeed.” She answered quietly, she certainly wouldn’t like to face him or any of his men in battle, the fact was they’d rip her apart as soon as they got a hold of her. Then again she assumed that the ‘stray’ doing this was a hell of a lot more impressive than she was.
When he spoke once more, told her of a task he had that only she could do she could feel her metaphorical tail thrashing, she felt like the good dog that had performed a trick well; disgusting, right? Even worse was the fact she liked the feeling, the buzzing in her stomach that gave her a small smile which she hid wonderfully with an entirely blank face that focussed completely on the screen in front of her, it was easier to keep a blank face when she didn’t have to look at her alpha, if she looked too long then she might get that strange air of awe all over her features and that would just be embarrassing for everyone.
She just nodded as she gazed at her screen and listened to his words, let them sink in slowly at first as she processed them and what he wanted her to do. He wanted her to be a honey trap, she wanted her to lure the little hunter into the open where Viktor could get at him. If anyone else had asked her she would have told them to shove a stick up their ass but as she glanced at him for one very brief moment she knew she could never deny him, especially not something so simple and easy. Her body and self -respect were small prices to pay for the advancement of the pack.
She didn’t speak, she was silent for a long moment as she tried to calculate what she should do. The fact was, as far as it was out of her comfort zone it wasn’t something that she would find particularly difficult, after all it was well known that the man would chase any bit of pussy on offer and not only that but she had been well trained in her own times in how to please a man. Sure that had evolved a bit in the last years but the principle of manipulation was the same and she had that down to a tee, she just hated it. ”Of course, tell me when and where you want him. It shouldn’t be hard to ‘pick him up’.” Her disgust was obvious, a shudder ran down her spine at the thought of having to get intimate with him, the thought of anyone’s hands sliding down her body. She hated clubbing, she hated the meat parade of women and the way men seemed to think that it was perfectly acceptable to stare, grab and touch everything you had.
Fuck.
It was worth it though, all for that metaphorical pat on the head. ”I’m yours to command sir.” Her voice was little more than a whisper, a human sitting next to her wouldn’t have heard it but a pureblood werewolf would have no problem.
