"I see," said the female, giving a sigh. Her eyes glanced upwards at the night sky. "If only more of my kind and the Lycans could be peaceful... I fear that the treaty will crumble apart and a horrendous war will begin soon. I do pray that is doesn't though and I am so very wrong."
The woman gave a giggle and nodded. "Well, you do not need to worry yourself about that either." She bowed her head and smiled sweetly at him. "Why thank you kindly. I appreciate it."
Her arm intertwined with his and the two walked off, heading towards the mansion of her sire's. She proceeded to wave down a taxi cab, knowing the walk would be too far (plus, she had just been attacked and she did not want to further worry Adrien.) One of the cabs slowed down and stopped before them, where the woman proceeded to slide inside and presumably David did as well. About fifteen minutes later, the vehicle pulled up at the gates of a large estate. Alexandria reached into her purse and gave the man twenty dollars, politely telling him to keep the change. They left the cab and it drove off, leaving them behind. The Vampiress pressed a button and a camera at the top of the gate looked them all over. She explained through the intercom that this man had saved her and that he was to meet Lord Chevalier. A buzzing sound was made and the gate slowly swung open. Alexandria motioned for David to follow and the two walked the long way up to the manor. Servants opened the two massive wooden doors and a security guard with dark, shaded glasses told the human he needed to be checked and to disarm his weapons. Later, David could get them back when he left the manor. The Vampiress gave the hunter a reassuring expression, explaining it was protocol.
Once everything was taken care off, the two were escorted towards the main hall-room. After a few minutes, the arrived to the entrance of the room, walking inside since the doors were already open, meaning the Second was available. Alexandria walked down the large room to the throne-like chair Adrien (had to) sit in (for appearances.) At seeing her sire, the woman smiled and curtsied, saying, "Sire~ I apologize for being so late."
She stood up straight and motioned towards David, explaining, "This man, David Cortes, saved my life this evening. On my way home, a Lycan attacked on the subway train and... if it were not for David being there, I would certainly not be here now."
Her head bowed once more. "I felt you would wish to meet the one who fought so valiantly and saved me, my Sire."

Long fingers tapped impatiently against the arm of the throne-like chair, icy blue eyes staring ahead. Sharp fangs chewed on his bottom lip and Adrien let out an exasperated sigh. Where on earth was Alexandria? She was nearly two hours late, an occurrence that never happened. In fact, the woman was often early. This left the Second annoyed but also very worried. With all of the chaos ensuing, it was very well possible that she ran into trouble. Even the thought made the Vampire's stomach churn and his hand clenched the arm of the chair tightly, the wood creaking from his powerful grip. The man felt like pacing up and down the hall, ordering for the woman to be found. What if she got attacked and was hurt? What if she was...-?! If the man's heart beat, it would have surely stopped. Adrien felt ill. If Alexandria's life was taken, there was no way he could keep on going. He could not endure another situation like with his deceased wife's.
Right before the Second was about to order for a search party to go out, a servant entered the room and told Adrien that Alexandria and a man, a human, were currently going through security. The male gave a slight sigh of relief and nodded at the servant to convey he got the message. The woman swiftly left to go about her duties once more and Adrien leaned back in his chair, crossing his legs, and waited. It seemed far too long before his eyes caught sight of the stunning Vampiress entering the room. Beside her was a human... a hunter, the man presumed. His light brows furrowed down a bit, curious as to why he was there. Of course, Adrien knew he would find out soon enough. The Second never did like it when Alexandria used such formal titles with him, but knew it was only for show around others. At least it was more familiar when they were alone or with other close acquaintances.
Adrien nodded his head and replied, "As long as you are safe, Alexandria, there is no need to apologize."
The Second visibly stiffened when the woman mentioned she had been attacked by a Lycan. A filthy, revolting, forsake wolf touched the Vampiress he sired, the one who was so much like his past wife...! While his expression remained cool and unreadable, his fingers once more clenched tightly at the end of the armrests, starting to split some of the wood. That deep hatred burned low within his being, wishing to rip apart the creature that had tried to hurt her. Any person who even dared think it would feel his fury. But--his grip loosened on the chair and the tension released--it appeared the Lycan was already taken care of. Cold, icy-blue eyes moved over to David's orbs and he asked, "You saved Alexandria and destroyed the beast that tried to harm her?"
If this were all true, the Second would offer this man nearly anything he wanted. Adrien cared for nothing more than the woman he sired (even if it was not necessarily obvious) and, while he normally saw humans as beneath him, the Vampire would be eternally grateful for this man's actions. And the eternal gratitude of a pure-blood Vampire was something that would greatly benefit a person for the rest of their life, whether long or short.

Thank God for taxis. New York is a rather large place, and he was thankful she had hailed the cab. On the ride over, all David could think of was who the hell her "sire" was, and how he was going to react to a human just straight walking through the door with Alexandria. His thoughts drifted then to possible methods of escape and evasion should the worst happen at this place, when the cab finally stopped in front of a rather large mansion. As he reached into the pocket to pay for the cab, he found that Alexandria had already paid for it. All righty then...
As they entered the house, David looked at the security guard and frowned when he said he need to hand over all weapons. "You're fucking joking right?" David asked back immediately. Alexandria tried to give a reassuring expression, and David could tell by the sheer size of the guard this would probably not end his way anyway should something go down. He handed him his pistol, and growled. "You lose it and I promise you I will kill you."
As they entered what David could only describe as a throne room, he looked at the man... no, pure blood vampire... seated in the chair. Aside from looking as though he didn't even know how to smile, he didn't seem that bad... For a vampire. He listened silently for them to finish their conversation, not saying a word really, just observing. He... Didn't really react to alot. The one thing he did seem to react to was the mention of Alexandria being attacked by lycans. He stiffened, and some anger was visible. So... He cared for this vampiress too? Not as visibly as the vampiress cared for him, but still...
When the vampire asked if David had killed the beast, he simply nodded. "Aye sir, it wasn't too bad. Just your standard dumb son of a bitch who thought he could attack a lonely woman on the street. Wasn't too hard sir. Silver bullets do a helluva job."

If the woman had blood pumping throughout her body and more of the liquid within her form, she would have surely blushed. Alexandria was relieved that he was not angry or had not ordered anyone to go searching for her. Troubling her sire was the last thing she would ever wish to do! The Vampiress smiled sweetly at Adrien and bowed her head, responding, "Of course. Thank you, Sire."
While the Second-in-Command's expression never changed, her ears picked up the sound of wood cracking and noticed his body tense. The woman's feet shuffled nervously and her delicate hands fumbled with one another. Even with her sire hiding his feelings, Alexandria for quite some time knew of his internal distaste for Lycans. It seemed like a natural and mutual feeling among many of the Vampire race, although she had never personally shared it. The kind-hearted woman could not bring herself to hate anyone, wishing for peace and serenity within the world. It was what she prayed for each night (ironic for a Vampire to pray, no?) Alexandria was certainly not what one would call the stereotypical Vampire. She valued all life and believed in equality and harmony. The Vampiress lost track of the amount of times she had pondered, as her hazel eyes rest over Adrien, if anything had ever happened to him in the past that made him detest the Lycan race and caused him to shut in and bury his emotions. It concerned the woman and she so desperately desired to know what troubled him, what caused those brief glimmers of distant sorrow and melancholy she would catch every so often when they were along and he thought she was looking away. But Alexandria knew she could never question her sire. The only times he ever revealed anything about himself was when he did it on his own accord. So the woman would simply have to wait and hope that one day he would tell her what troubled his heart.
Alexandria stood still and silent, her hazel eyes switching back and forth between Adrien and David. There was no need for her to speak at this moment, so instead she just watched and listened to the two men converse, her hands clasped together and resting over the skirt of her dress.

His icy blue eyes gazed over the Vampiress. She was so polite to him and respectful. Adrien normally enjoyed such behavior and it pleased him, for rudeness was not tolerated within his presence. But the two seemed so distant from one another when she acted this way, yet could he blame her? All of these years, the pure-blood had kept himself at a distance even while so close. He rarely opened up and expressed his feelings, allowing Alexandria to do most of the talking. How else was she supposed to react? The man was so internally conflicted on what he should do, dealing with his fear of what could happen if followed his feelings towards her.
He pushed aside his thoughts when David finally spoke, watching him carefully with his light eyes. While Adrien wished the hunter's words were true (although the use of the words "lonely woman" slightly bothered him), the Second suspected they were not. He clearly did not realize Alexandria's importance, although that was no surprise. The human seemed new to the hunter profession. Alexandria was most likely attacked on purpose and Adrien internally scolded himself for his foolishness. With all of the chaos going on within the city, he should never have allowed the delicate Vampiress to walk about on her own. She was a walking and taking target. From here on, Adrien would make sure that Alexandria was under protection and was never along when leaving the manor. It was far too dangerous for her not too. The Second internally noted that he needed to speak to the head of his special guards and discuss plans and strategies of protecting the woman. The man closed his eyes and stood up, saying shortly, "I see."
Hid lids opened and the pure-blood brushed his open jacket, walking down the two steps and towards the two. He stated, "Regardless of the difficulty of the task, I am still grateful for your actions. It is rare to find bravery in men, human or supernaturals. Many are selfish and bystanders, so I thank you for saving Alexandria's life. Consider me an acquaintance you can come to whenever you are in trouble. You have the Second-in-Command's support and influence to back you. If you need or want anything, simply ask."

David listened carefully to everything the old vampire said, and for some reason... Just didn't feel right. Perhaps it was just prejudices, or the fact that the man he was standing in front of was most likely a very old, very powerful pure blood vampire that made the man's offer of help seem.... Sinister? The fact that he tossed in that he himself was the "second in command" seemed to David that the man were trying to intimidate him as much as show his ability to aid him. Still, David didn't even give the appearance of thinking that. He simply stood his ground and listened quietly to what he said. Giving the appearance of being perfected was an art all marines perfected after a while.
Honestly... He had to think about it for a sec. He really didn't know what to say. I mean sure, it'd be good to have friends in high places... But wasn't this man technically the enemy? Or... Perhaps he was one of those trying to bring both sides under control? Regardless, he wasn't going to punch a gift horse in the mouth.
"Thank you very much sir." He said in the trained military manner he was used to. "But.... I hope I don't seem ungrateful in this... Why would you help me? Unless you forget, I kinda sorta hunt both your kind and Lycans. Mind you, I try to not hunt syndicate vamps, seeing as how most of ya'll do a good job of controlling your own... But there's a good chance any aid you give me may very well be used against some of your own... With all honesty sir, I'm not sure what to make of your offer..." He looked around for a bit, and remembered very much he was in no position to turn anything down.
"I accept your offer... And I promise if I ever see Alexandria on the street again she will be safe whenever I'm around. Just... All really ask for since your offering are two things really. One... Any information on rogue vampire groups you know are skulking around the area. I know ya'll keep tabs on them, and you know it's our job to put them down. Second, we'd like better deals with anti-lycan weaponry. As you know, we don't have much in the way of weaponry. Anything you can do to help us in that regard would be greatly appreciated sir."
He tried not to look nervous, and for the most part succeeded, but accidentally gulped lightly at the end of his request. Dammit. Sorry, natural reaction to the potential threat of being bitten and killed by a several centuries old vampire... He hoped he hadn't overstepped his bounds on his requests.

(I am just posting as Adrien first since... it makes the most sense right now.)
Adrien had a tendency to intimidate people. Perhaps it was his political position, or maybe the fact that he was nearly a thousand years old which made him one of the oldest known supernaturals, or because of how his eyes always stared so coldly and without emotion straight at others, or it could be his incredible and rarely matched strength, speed, fighting, and strategic capabilities. It was most likely a combination of all of those characteristics of the Vampire. After being alive for so long, the man could easily tell how he make people feel, even if they did not so much or even any visible reactions. The latter was how David seemed to be reacting, which caused the Second to suspect the human was or had once been a soldier. Having been trained long ago and being a warrior himself, Adrien knew that once a soldier, always a soldier. Those ways never left a man, particularly if they had served in battle. It became ingrained within one's mind. People who did not serve could never fully understand. Sure, they could sympathize, but it was impossible to have a full understanding without having the experience. It was not only that this human was a soldier but particularly for his valor that caused a small glimmer of respect and acceptance for David within Adrien. While the Second was known for being cold and nearly impossible to get close to, he was certainly a fair man and very generous to those who did right. It was for no other reason that Adrien showed his gratitude and awarded others.
David's words slightly intrigued the male, finding them almost... amusing, that is, if he could even remember what it felt like to be amused. While he hid it from the Vampires, Adrien did not feel much loyalty towards his kind as a whole. The only people, in his mind, who deserved loyalty were those who proved it and were worth such a sentiment. The Second himself would hunt or have Vampires who broke the essential laws hunted down. He did not tolerate law-breakers and those who used their powers irresponsibly and dangerously. In fact, Adrien was just as displeased with rogue Vampires as the hunters were. Vampires who acted like beasts and could not control themselves needed to be taken care of.
"Monsters are monsters, Mr. Cortes, regardless of whether they are a Vampire, Lycan, or human," stated the man. Of course, he felt that all Lycans fit the "monster category" and should be put down and die, but he had to keep that opinion to himself. His hands clasped together and Adrien closed his eyes. "Anyone who breaks the laws we have carefully laid out to ensure the secrecy of the supernaturals from the general population of the humans must be dealt with immediately." Those icy blue eyes revealed themselves once more and held a strong seriousness within them. "I hold no sympathy towards my brethren who handle their power irresponsibly and without care. As a part of a world where humans are the primary members of the population, we must adapt ourselves to their ways. I was born nearly a millennium ago; times were much different then as they are now. As the years went on and people advanced and changed, so did I. Doing so is necessary to live within this world, and those that do not accept that truth can no longer be a part of society and must be handled appropriately. So... no, I have no qualm against giving you, a hunter and enforcer of this truth, weapons and help to punish those who deserve it, Vampire or otherwise."
A blonde brow cocked upwards and he eyed David, asking, "Has the logic behind my offer been adequately explained now, Mr. Cortes?"
"Good," said the man, nodding his head in satisfaction and approval of the human's answer. Adrien watched David and internally thought that Alexandria would from now on be safe, with or without the human. She was no longer going to be without protection, that could be certain. The Second listened to David's request, remaining silent the whole time. Once the man was finished, Adrien noticed the mortal gulp, clearly nervous from making such a request. The Vampire ignored the reaction and simply nodded once more. Clapping his hands, a servant immediately went over to Adrien and he whispered an order into his ear. As the man went off to fulfill the order, the Second-in-Command swiveled around to look at David and answered, "While I typically have my own men take care of any messes, there are a handful of locations marked out in the city that are potentially where individual rogues and groups of rogue Vampires reside in the daylight. They have yet to be confirmed, but they are at least leads that the Hunter Organization can investigate. And as for your second request, simply contact me for deals and I can get you whatever weaponry you need."
His orbs motioned for Alexandria to give him one of his cards and he then added, "Will that be all for now, Mr. Cortes?"

The Vampiress stood in place the whole time David and Adrien conversed, not a single word or sound escaping her lips. She simply stood there and listened carefully. The talk of hunting and monsters saddened her kind and sweet heart, believing there had to be some sort of alternative to all of the violence. Of course, she said not a word, for it was not her place and Alexandria had absolutely no say or power within the matter. While the woman was against his words, there was nothing she would even be able to argue with. As much as she hated thinking it, the Vampiress knew that there were violent and deadly supernaturals who broke the different societies rules and that they had to be handled... she just desperately wished that there could be a peaceful way to resolve the issues. But, throughout humanity, violence nearly always seemed to be handled with more violence. It was a terrible way of life and the woman did hope that one day it would change.
Regardless of her thoughts, she was glad that her sire was rewarding and helping out her savior and new friend. Of course, the woman knew Adrien would for he was a fair man. He was a good man too, even if the Second made others uncomfortable. Alexandria saw him for who he really was and, while she would never utter it aloud, she loved him for who he was. While he hid himself from others, the Vampiress was one of the very few who caught glimmers of his soft-side. Adrien was not as cold as he came across. Memories of him saving her life and taking care of her throughout the years only proved it. Ever so slowly, this side was revealed more and more to her and her hope was that one day it could be shown to others. While she knew little about his past, the woman suspected he was a very different man long ago, much warmer and not so hardened and shut-off. There were days she would lay awake and fantasize about what he had been like, imaging that she had known him when he was a young Vampire. Alexandria was so curious about his past, but she never pried for doing so would only cause her sire to close himself even more. Time was the key.... she just knew it!
The beautiful woman blinked when she noticed Adrien's motion and bowed her head, quickly going into her bag and pulling out a business card of sorts. It was a pure white with shimmering light-blue words, holding a very icy and almost wintery appearance, that told his general information. Her delicate hand brought it over to David and she smiled politely and warmly at him.
"Here you are, David~" said she.

"Aye sir, that is really much more help than I could have honestly anticipated." David grinned. This all still felt... Weird you know? I mean here he was, a hunter, a man sworn to defend innocent humans from all the monsters that go bump in the night (or, in the case of wolves, smash), and here he was talking to one of their leaders. I mean yes, these 'monsters' at one point were regular humans (or at the very least acted like they were) so they could be very amiable conversation partners... But still...
Grabbing the card Alexandria presented him, he smiled softly and replied. "Thanks Triple A." He jested. He looked at the card for a moment, than slipped it into his pocket. Right as he was about to leave (he didn't want to seem rude... but he really wanted to get out of the lion's den) he remembered something.
"Oh triple A." David had decided to call her that from now on. It was a lot funner than saying Alexandria. "May I borrow that copy of Brom Stoker? I actually have a lot of time now, and I could use a good book to read. I'll return it in a month or so. Sound good?"

The Second-in-Command of the Vampires nodded in reply to David and answered, "It is the least I can do for you after saving Alexandria's life and bringing her to me safely."
Adrien remained silent and watched the two interact. There was almost a twinkle in David's eyes as he spoke to Alexandria. It was no surprise; she was a beautiful woman and nearly any man who met her found the vampiress attractive and charming. There was no question that she, in fact, was. It was strange with how familiarly that human spoke to his progeny, yet that seemed to be the way of mortals nowadays, particularly Americans. Adrien was not too worried about David making any moves towards his Alexandria. The human seemed too intelligent to try to do so, considering her maker's ranking, and Alexandria, like with all others, would simply see him as a friend. That was something else that Adrien found almost baffling and even remarkable... Alexandria made friends so quickly. These two could not have known one another for more than three hours and yet they were so comfortable with one another and had already formed a good relationship. The Second had lost that ability so very long ago that he was certain he could never get it back. It was even a chore to talk to most people on a daily basis.
The constantly drooped yet observant and cold eyes went over the two of them. So Alexandria was going to lend a book to this David? And Dracula, of all novels? If Adrien had not lost his sense of humor, he might have chuckled at the selection. He proceeded to ponder at the nickname David gave his Alexandria. Triple A? Interesting, calling the elegant Vampiress a company for fixing vehicles. Adrien said not a word about it and waited until the two were done speaking before walking over to them and placing a large yet slender and strong hand softly on her delicate shoulder.
The Second leaned down slightly and asked, "Alexandria, once you are finished lending the book to David and escort him to the vehicle that will take him home," he proceeded to glance over at David, "--and I will have one of my men drive you to wherever you reside, Mr. Cortez--" Adrien's attention quickly went back to his progeny, speaking in a low voice so few could here, mainly only Alexandria and David, "would you mind joining me for a cup of tea and a stroll in the gardens? The moon is full tonight and the roses you planted look lovely, and it would be nice to catch up and hear how your night went, besides the attack. Plus, we must discuss this coming week's political events, meetings, and the overall schedule, of course."
Adrien could not deny that there was an ulterior motive for saying this while David was in the room. It was a passive way of declaring that Alexandria was his and to keep hands off of her, even though the Second highly doubted the human would. But men could act foolishly sometimes, particularly when it came to beautiful women. Of course, it was not for just this reason. Adrien would have asked her to do this anyway, since they had yet to have their daily discussion and they did, in fact, have to talk about the supernatural political events that were to go on. It was just convenient to ask her now with David in the room, instead of Adrien having to make a separate comment to David implying to not get too close to the innocent and sweet woman.
