Dean Logan. A man that had fought the very brinks of hell itself and had brought his sons along with him, he thought he was protecting them from the bad men.. Even if at times he came off as a bad man himself but the story it didn't start like this.. It started off with a couple expecting children. Dean held his new born children in the hospital room that he and his wife had been in for the past couple of hours, all that mattered is that they finally had their rewards they were now parents to two beautiful baby boys.. Dean held Logan as he looked into his baby's eyes imagining the future for his young boy.. He'd be the smart guy of the family.. The money bringer.. the good son..
Skipping a-head five years, Dean had been playing with his children in the yard it was a beautiful summers day and they'd been helping him with the chores that his wife had drafted him into.. It was okay though he had his little buddies to help him the whole time. Dean had been a good father to his kids and they loved him in return he was their idol and it made Dean smile knowing he was raising his boys right..
Although he had to thank his wife because without her caring nature he'd never of been half the man he was. Dean and his boys had been out one day as the car he'd been repairing with his boys roared as it approached the drive-way something was up.. Dean told his children to stay in the car.. as he walked to the door it looked like it'd been forced open as he slowly peered in he heard sounds of a struggle coming from the front room he rushed in to see to men grabbing his wife and struggling to get her out off the back door.. One man had approached him and threw him back across the room with such a force.. he clearly wasn't human.. Dean watched in horror before passing out as his wife had been ripped from his arms.
Dean had been knocked out for awhile but when he woke up he obsessed from then on bringing his children inside he told them to bar the doors and he rummaged through the closet until he pulled a shoe box out.. He needed to speak to his friend.. He needed help.. Looking at Vaughn he thrust the pistol into his hands and told him that if anyone beside Daddy had tried to come through the doors to shoot them.. "Look after your brother Vaughn.. I'll be back as soon as I've sorted a few things out.. just stay in the house and don't open the door to anybody. " Dean held his boys close telling them he loved them and he closed the door behind him.

Vaughn could still remember the sound of his fathers old Camero roaring up the driveway and then coming to a complete halt. He remembered the look on his face his father gave him as he looked in the back seat at the two boys, sitting in their booster seats looking innocently at their dad. The face made Vaughn feel small, helpless, and weak. It was the face that his dad made to make him feel useless and that he had no say or know-how on the matter.
He remembered leaving the car with his brother and running up to the house, catching a glimpse of his mother being taken. She gave him a similar face. A face that told him there was no way. She was teary-eyed, and he knew from then on he would never see her again. Perhaps if his dad had seen that face he was understand why looking for her now, searching the World for clues, was a waste of time.
Vaughn remembers his first time holding a gun. He was very young, and wasn't told much about guns other than they weren't toys. His father gave it to him, and with a stern face told him to kill anybody who came to the door. How could he do that? How could you make a child kill somebody? Because it was his father, he listened to him. He waited by the door for hours. When his dad finally did come back Vaughn held the gun up to him and cried. For a moment he thought he would have to kill somebody. It was a concept he didn't want to accept, and to this day still doesn't.
It was now later in the year. Vaughns father was rigorously training and preparing the two of them to hunt. Vaughn was learning how to wield an assortment of different weapons, become efficient with daggers and other knives, and so on. Every day after school Vaughn was expected to do his homework, and then meet his father outside for further training. Then after hours of training he was given a strict diet and food intake. Vaughn was lucky to go to bed by midnight. It all depended on how well he would perform for his father.
Vaughn would realize that having a social life outside of school was near impossible. It's what kept him single for a majority of his time living in his dads house. The one exception was prom. Vaughn was allowed to go to prom rather than train, but his father was harsh on his schedule. He lost his virginity that night to a girl he thought he had fallen in love with. His father changed his perspective fast. The women in Vaughn's life faded away into nothingness. Because of his father, nothing else really mattered except finding his mother. Every time he thought about it though, he just pictured his mothers face as she was carried out of the house.
He knew deep down his father cared. Vaughn also knew his father was trying to build him into an elite Hunter. But he wasn't looking for a drill sergeant, coach, or commanding officer. He was looking for a father.

It was the holiday season around the Logan household, he had lost his wife almost a year ago and the pain was still searing in his mind but he had two boys to look after and he couldn't show weakness in front of them. Vaughn had been sitting with him at the piano as he was teaching him how to play it.Dean had been showing Vaughn the different ways to play and he got him to play along with him. He sung quietly to himself as he played his boy looking at him with a confused look having never heard his father sing a long before.
" Well I heard there was a secret chord that David played and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do you? Well it goes like this: The fourth, the fifth, The minor fall and the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah..." Ripley quietly sung loud enough for Vaughn to here as his thoughts flashed to some of the things he'd been learning over the past year from his only friend Jesus the man who knew too much about to little.. It was his teachings that would give him inspiration to raise his boys against the monsters.
" Your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you She tied you to her kitchen chair She broke your throne and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah" He felt like this song could express his pain, but he wasn't trying to hide his pain his boy knew how he felt they had been strong together and without the woman of the house to care for the men of the house hold.. Still Dean had to be strong for his boys even if this wasn't the happiest holiday they had ever had it was something he would try and make happy.
Dean stood up from the Piano and walked over to the tree and he brought his son along and lifted him up on his shoulders passing him the star to put a top the tree... Dean and Little Vaughn both smiled as it lit up the room with the bright Christmas lights.. There was something about the star that made Dean hope his wife would still be alive and would be able to come back to her home one day..
"Well, little soldier it's almost ten thirty on Christmas eve, what do you say i come up and read you and your brother a bed time story before i lay out some cookies and milk for Santa. " Dean smiled as he picked his boys up and headed towards their room running like a mad man making horse noises as his children giggled. At least he still had his boys

The Holidays were always a more cheerful time in the Logan household. Vaughn remembers trying really hard to impress his sons and make everything seem all hunky dory even though it wasn't at all. He could see the pain in his eyes and in his movements. Vaughn knew his father walked slower, and was tense. The incident hit him hard, and it was affecting the family.
His dad was pretty damn good at the piano, but like everything else he tried too hard. His singing might have been good to his own standards, but Vaughn always remembered him and his brother exchanging silly faces as they giggled behind their dads back at his singing. His voice was too deep and raspy to sing. But in his head he sounded good, so why dampen on that?
One thing his dad always made sure of was having enough food in the house, and spoiling Vaughn and his brother with presents. If there was one thing his dad loved, it was too see the look of excitement on their faces when they unwrapped their gifts. A lot of the presents were training gear, but there would still be toys and other things that Vaughn wanted, he couldn't complain. Christmas was a blast.
When Vaughn would write to Santa Claus, he would always write the same thing. Now that he's older and knows Santa Claus isn't real, he hoped his father never read the letters. Because if so then every year Vaughn knew he made his father break down into tears. His letters always said:Dear Santa,
You can take back all of my presents, dissemble my toys, or even give them to my brother or some other kid who needs it more. All I want is my mom back. She was taken from my family by bad people, and my dad hasn't been the same since. I want my family to be the way it used to. I don't know if you can perform miracles, or if this letter will even reach you. But I'm prepared to wait, because all I want is my family back.
Thank you, VaughnHe hoped his dad never read those letters. But he knew that he probably did. Every year as a child Vaughn waited, and waited, but he never got his present. Maybe that's why his father was so rigorous in training Vaughn and searching for his mother. Maybe he was actually trying to fulfill his Christmas wish. Maybe.

1988 It was the 31st of October, it was hallows eve and Ripley had been prepping the house with scary decorating the house to be scary so his boys could have a decent... His boys had been playing with their junior hunting gear pretending to kill each other and Ripley smiled as he pulled down his mask and hide up stairs banging until his children. they opened the door and Ripley jumped out at them wearing a scary costume scaring his children.. The children ran away and Ripley followed chuckling to himself as Vaughn came out dressed as Wolverine from the comics and his other son came out dressed as a the pink power ranger, and striking a gay little pose.
"Sorry Slugger, you're not putting that costume on we the pink power ranger was a girl, admittedly you look like a girl but you're a girl.. No trick or treating for you... eat the candy in the fridge" Ripley spoke as he took Vaughn out for a night of trick and enjoying the scenery, Ripley making awkward conversation with his son; "Son i kind think your brother is one of those people... we should send him to one of those church wholesome camps for gay people.. I mean he asked the other day to sign a permission slip for ballet classes.. What's he like a school... Are all of his friends girls... does he jump around like Elton John..I mean he wears a lot of denim shorts.. I'm kind of concerned. " Ripley sighed as his son always cut the denim jeans,.
Vaughn and Dean heard a noise echoing from the woods, Dean told his son to stick close as he withdrew his revolver.. Dean fired relentlessly as the man dropped the floor blood oozing from his mouth, Dean and Vaughn had surprised the vampire mid-kill and successfully managed to kill it while Dean covered Vaughn eyes like a good father and led Vaughn away.
"Alright Vaughn, lets head home and watch the scariest movie we can find, but first we'll tuck your brother into bed and me and you will watch scary movies and eat candy.. unlike your gay brother... Who'll sit in bed and read Cinderella to himself." Ripley sighed again and lead Vaughn..

Halloween. It was a time Vaughn really enjoyed. Mainly because it was one of the only times his father allowed him to eat candy. Otherwise, his father would say it would stunt his growth and make him a 'candy ass'. He got to dress up as his favorite comic book character. He enjoyed the yellow and blue costume as he play-fought his brother in the backyard. For some reason his brother dressed up like the pink ranger from their favorite t.v series, The Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. Vaughn ever knew why he enjoyed that character the most...the actress was attractive maybe?
He was a little upset when his father told his brother he couldn't go trick-or-treating. Vaughn tried to put on a guise that he was happy, but really he wanted to stay home. Sure he loved the candy, but he didn't like the attention his father would always bring to them. Typically unintentional. It just reminded Vaughn of how different his family and his life was. It wasn't something he enjoyed knowing or openly witnessing. A part of him wanted to run home and just be with his brother in front of the television. But his father wanted to spend time with him. Vaughn thought that his dad perhaps treated his brother differently because he reminded his father of their mother. His brother looked like their mother, whereas Vaughn looked like his father.
While they were out trick or treating, the bush besides them shook violently. Without thinking, his father took out his pistol and shot into it several times. A man fell through the brush, blood oozing from his now disfigured skull onto the road. It was the first time Vaughn had seen such a sight. His father covered his eyes and they went home.
Vaughn had a hard time sleeping that night. It wasn't because of the scary movies, but the sight of the dead man. When he did fall asleep he was awoken by the sound of his brother coming into their room from the bedroom window. He often left the house when his father wouldn't. He had gotten more candy than Vaughn. They stayed up at night, talking and eating candy together. He had more fun with his brother than he had in a while.
It was a memory that to this day Vaughn still cherishes as one of his favorite childhood memories.

1989 It was the first day of school for Vaughn and Cinderella. He decided to call his other son that due to the nature he acted sometimes which more often than not annoyed Dean, but he still had his favourite son Vaughn. The Old Camaro roared as Dean took one of the hardest parking spaces and stopped opening his door and looking at the boys school.. Parents and children alike looked as Ripley opened the door for Vaughn and Cinderella to get out, they had recently moved and this was the newest school he could enrol the boys in.
Dean closed the door and locked it as he escorted his boys to the principal's office shooting people looks that meant he wasn't a joker, Sitting outside the office with his boys he looked at Vaughn. "If anyone, and i mean anyone is nasty to you or your brother you've got my permission to kick their asses boy, we're a proud family and we don't take shit from nobody." Dean smiled as he patted his son on the shoulders and looked at his other son and gave him a gentle nudge. The Principle finally came out and brought the two Logan men into the office, and Dean brought Cinderella along just cause he didn't want to be left out.
"Mr Davidson, these boys are my life and I'm making sure you know not to mess with my life, ever since i lost their mother.. These boys are all i have and if you ruin them i will personally... Ruin you." Ripley shot them man a dead stare and smiled patting both his boys on the head and walking away from the office out towards his car. A group of Redneck students had been sitting on it and looking at Ripley, they taunted his taste in car and he looked at them and smiled grabbing one of the boys by the collar and throwing him into a nearby truck. "Go back to your mothers boys, Dean Logan out bitches." Dean opened his car and reversed driving out of the school as his engine roared away-- He'd be back for his boys later.. Now he'd go home and start looking for his wife while the boys learned stuff he couldn't teach them.
Dean had loved his boys, but he was sad about leaving them at school but he knew they had to make friends at some point, and if they could both lead happy lives then so could he.. Maybe he should tone down the searching for his wife and let the boys lead a happier life.. Just maybe..

First day of school was a nightmare. We happened to move to a new town, dad never said why. But I think it was because he was getting lots of complaints from neighbors and city-folk alike, and to avoid it all he ran like he always does. Vaughn knew his father was a proud, strong man. But he didn't like to admit there was something wrong with him that he needed to change. Perhaps that's where Vaughn got his ignorance.
Kids at school heard Vaughn's father call his brother Cinderella, and because of it he got teased and bullied. Later on that day however, he got tired of the name calling and got into a fight. Vaughn remembers rushing to help when other boys got into the fight with them. Perhaps it was because of their training, or perhaps it was because fate was on their side. But him and his brother were able to take on five guys at once, all older than them. They of course got in trouble with the Principal. It wasn't until their father arrived did they hear the yelling. They got off easy that day thanks to their dad, and the school had a bad reputation for them. They were treated differently by the staff and given special privileges that neither of the boys wanted.
Vaughn excelled through his school work, finding it easy to understand and comprehend. In gym class is where he had the most fun. He met a friend there, Damian. Whom he would come to know for a majority of his school career.
During lunch, Vaughn devoured his food in order to give him some time to work on his school related papers. He sat and began to write and figure out math algorithms the teacher had given to him as side work to see if he was eligible for advanced mathematics. A girl came over and sat by him. Vaughn never understood the meaning of shy until he met that girl. He could only hear his father in his head telling him to not be such a wuss or a baby.
It became a habit after a while. Everyday they would eat lunch together alone and do school work together. They became good friends. Soon Vaughn had a group of his own in highschool. And he wouldn't have guessed it, but that girl would be the one he would date throughout highschool and lose because of his father.
It was the girl that he still thinks about to this day that is now thousands of miles away.

1989 It was the first weekend after he'd enrolled the boys in school, Dean wanted to forget about his wife and he was going to begin a new approach and put it to the practise. Dean lay in bed as his alarm clock beeped for 7am, he'd wanted to let the boys have a good weekend and set aside everything he'd done to them to try and give them a "Normal" childhood... He was going to put his wife behind him for now and raise his boys like she'd have liked from him.
Dean walked out to the kitchen and made the boys their favourite breakfast and made Vaughn's eggs exactly how he liked them scrambled. Vaughn had recently been seeing a girl at school and Dean was happy for his boy, unlike his other son who showed no interest in girls.. But that was not his judgment it was his boys life he could lead it as he liked. Dean laid the table as he walked up to the boys bedroom and knocked softly on the door before walking in.
"Who's up for a fun weekend.. of Cartoons, junk food.. and video games!.. and we can even go to the arcade if you boys want.. no more training we're going to try a different approach i want you boys to lead a healthy life style.. Dean smiled and hugged his boys giving them the most love and support he'd ever shown them..
Walking back down to the front room he kissed the picture of his wife and him kissing and smiled before placing it down. Dean sat at the table as his boys came rushing down with gleeful smiles across their faces, it'd been a picture perfect moment, of course nothing would ever replace his missing wife but he had to be the parent these boys needed-- He looked at Vaughn's brother and smiled ruffling his hair.. "I know you miss your mother slugger, but you've got here looks and she'd have loved to been here so.. Let's not be sad.. Lets live each day happier and in her memory.." He didn't want the boys to forget their mother, but he'd needed to step away from being obsessed about his wife.. He was going to change to make those boys lives so much better.
Dean finished his breakfast and washed up the boys plates as they had been watching cartoons in the front room, Dean walked in and sat between them and laughed at the cartoon wrapping his arms around his boys they all sat their laughing at the TV and enjoying the family time.
"Okay, boys what do you want to do next we can go anywhere you'd like the beach, the arcade.. or even the ice cream parlour and get us some cones." Dean smiled as he brought his children into a hug and tickled them as they all laughed together.

Vaughn ran down the stairs with his brother, they were laughing because his brother made a joke about how they finally got a day off from training. When they got to the table his brother was disappointed that they didn't get to eat Fruit Loops, but it was okay because Vaughn enjoyed eggs, bacon and hashbrowns. It was a man's meal...He didn't know why his brother was eating it. Vaughn couldn't help but not consider his brother to be a man because Vaughn was older by a few seconds. Their dad took their plates, which was a surprise to him entirely.
Vaughn ran over to the couch and grabbed his favorite toy, a action figure of Darth Vader. He remembered going to the movie theater with his dad and watching the Star Wars trilogy on the big screen. It was a real treat.
His brother grabbed the remote and turned the channel to Full House and started dancing to the theme song. Vaughn stole the remote from his hand and turned it on to the Teeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. "We're watching cartoons not Full House!" Vaughn said with a laugh as he plopped himself back on the couch.
A commercial came on showing the movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" and both Vaughn and his brother's jaw dropped.
"Oh Dad can we see it! Please please!?" They said it almost in unison as they climbed up onto their father and tugged on his arms.
