Running, running, running... As trees passed, Tindel grew more frightened. Where were they? They are not here anymore. Halting her movement, she turned around quickly. Deep in an unknown forest, tears streaming down her face. Her family was gone. Mother and Father gone. Lycans! Horrible creatures. Abhorrent things. They took away her family and killed her small town. Branches snapping caused Tindel to whip around. There in front of her were the monstrous bastards that murdered her family. She watched as they reared back and took a giant leap...
"NO!" Bolting up in bed, sweat stuck her clothing to her body, her bags matted to her forehead. Heart pounding in her chest, Tindel looked around her darkened room. "It was just a dream. Just a horrible dream," she muttered to herself. Flipping on the beside lamp, light flooded the room. Climbing out of the bed, she flung the pillow that had fallen onto the floor back on to the bed. A shower was what she needed but pent up tension over came the want of a shower. Changing into gym shorts and a t-shirt, she pulled a sweatshirt over her head and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. A run was what she needed. The dream was the reason she chose to run.
Clicking out the lights in her apartment, she made her way down to the sidewalk a couple floors below. The night had cooled down and a slight breeze had picked up. Pulling her hair up into a messy knot on her head, she did her stretches and took off at a leisurely pace.
Getting to the corner of Longacre Square, she took a deep breath and tried to slow her heart rate. Stepping into the small convenience store, she purchased a bottle of water and then found a lone bench to sit on. Tension released, she turned her head up and looked at the stars.
