She unclasped her hands, she didn't really care to know about his past life right now, but if that meant more answers to some of her questions, she would press on. She was a stubborn young girl, and she usually didn't give up when she wanted answers. She looked out the window and for once in her life she wanted to hold on to that sunrise, because it would probably be the last one she'd ever get tp see, but right now, she wanted to know more.
She stood up and walked to over to the window and looked outside, the sky was begging to change color, and she frowned, then turned around and leaned against the window frame. I understand your urgency to keep your secrets, trust me I get that, I have LOTS of secrets that I am glad to say I can probably leave in the past now, but when it comes to my safety, there are some things I just HAVE to know. I don't want you to divulge in your whole life story here Alejandro, because something tells me we don't have the time tonight to listen to it all, something tells me there is more than a hundred years of that to be told. I just need to know why I have to protect a bunch of humans..., wow did she just refer to them as humans? She paused at that moment and just cleared her throat and pushed on. that are killing our kind, rouge or not, when I am not completely sure I even know if I will still be alive by tomorrow night if they catch sight of me in the streets. How do they determine who the bad and the good are, and why did you chose to help them with this mission?

Alejandro listened to her quietly, his anger subsiding. Finally, a small smile curled on his lips as he interlocked his hands, placing them in front of the his mouth. Finally, she was asking the right question.
Why defend humans? That was a question he wrestled with for a long time. In Alejandro's case, it was that he had been deceived for so long and used to harm humans against his true will, a will that had been suppressed by sex, lies, and a false memory fabricated by that pure blood bitch long ago until re-awoken.
"So you become a vampire, and immediately you'd throw out your values of protecting others? At least, you being a police officer, that is what I assume you had. But regardless, why help the humans? Simple. There are now more vampires than there ever have been. The ease of travel these days, the connectivity of us all, the simple fact that news now can spread faster than the speed of light. The vampire thrives on obscurity, no? The less our existence is known of, the easier our lives are. What do you think would happen if everyone found out? There have always been careless vampires, but imagine, perhaps, there are far more careless vampires than wise ones. What then? Mankind discovers our existence, and several things will happen then. Many will call for our deaths, and we'd be facing far worse than the hunters. Hunters, for the most part, know who to target, and do not go after 'civil' vampires. A few will be calling for coexistence. Their voices, however, would be quickly overwhelmed. The final option, and the worst by far, would be people seeking to become vampires themselves."
"Humans are selfish creatures. When offered a chance at longer life, at the cost of others, many would more than jump at the chance. Society as we knew it would cease. Mankind would stagnate, nature would stagnate. Vampires cannot reproduce you see, that is reserved for only pure vampires, a very rare breed. And no matter what, all vampires die. What would happen, you think, if every person was a vampire?" He paused, waiting for her response.

Listening to him closely, she ignored his little quips about her old job. She knew her life had been turned upside down, would she now be hunted by the people she used to protect, and would she still have to protect them? It didn't confused her, it just frustrated her, and angered her. It was more the fact that the bastard that had changed her against her will, and then ran off into the night, abandoned her, was nowhere to be seen, and it frustrated her that she'd probably never get her revenge because that would probably get her in trouble.
She pondered his question for a second, she knew the answer of course, and well frankly that future seemed pretty grim, and painful. Nothing very good I am sure, all hell breaking loose, a bunch of crazed hungry pires? Yea I get your point, but what are the rules here, rouge humans? Is there a such thing as that? Have you ever had a vigilante that you've had to deal with? Oh and one more question, what are the rules within our own little world, pire vs pire, because frankly I would really much love to hunt the son of a bitch that did this to me down and drive a stake through his unbeating heart. She had so many questions and they were all fumbling out now.

Alejandro nodded. Her question was also reasonable. "To answer your questions with rogue humans, vigilantes, yes, you may kill them, but only if they attack first. And you must also be aware of certain things. One, if a hunter sees you killing a vigilante, he'll attack because he'll most likely think you're attacking a human without provocation. You cannot blame him for doing his job, as he did not know the circumstances. In scenarios like that, it's best to simply get out as quickly as possible. Second, you must not feed on vigilantes. I know that seems a waste of perfectly good blood, but it'll make your life harder in the future. It is very... Difficult to get away from live prey."
He sighed, remembering his younger days of insatiable hunger. Lord, there must have been a time when every man condemned to death at the prison in Madrid was executed by him to try to calm his hunger. That had been a different time, there were no blood packs then, but still...
"You want revenge on the vampire who did this to you?" Alejandro tried not to smile at that, but he couldn't help it. He was the same way. If he were to ever see the pureblood bitch who put her teeth in his neck all those years ago he'd make sure her death was slow and painful. "I don't blame you for that. Most vampires look down on things like that. I? I encourage it. Any vampire who turned a human unwillingly than left is a coward, and deserves death. If you so like, I could help you with that." He pointed over to the wall on the corner. "Each of those weapons is armed with UV rounds, something that makes the Hunters much deadlier than your average vigilante. Their weapons and ammunition are especially designed to take down supernaturals. However, bullets don't have a preference of master. Pick your weapon, and I will help you take him down."
