Vaughn enjoyed a good show. But it was 3 am in the morning, and the Opera House was closed. Him and a few fellow hunters were scouting the area in search of a possible Vampire kidnapping. Vaughn was a bit surprised his dad did not want to come alone. Perhaps he figured lots of kidnappings occurred each year, and this one in particular wasn't connected with the kidnapping of his wife and Vaughn's mother. In any case he was starting to grow accustomed to having his father back in his life. But he had his own life to live, and his own vendettas to chase.
The streets were dead and quiet, save for the footsteps of Vaughn and his men and the occasional scrap of newspaper being carried by the wind as it rolled its way along the streets. A loud scream echoed through the buildings, and by the time it reached Vaughn's ears, him and his men were already on the move towards it's direction.
Their boots scattered along the vacant cement sidewalk towards the direction of the cries. They passed through a deserted alleyway and Vaughn waved the men over to follow, cutting across the blocks in order to get to their destination quicker. Another loud, sharp scream rang close by, but definitely by the same source. Vaughn raised a fist and stopped his men, before making them break apart into scouting locations.
Vaughn moved ahead slowly, listening all around him. His nostrils flared and he tilted his head down. There was a smell of cheap after shave. He knew it wasn't him, he hadn't shaved in a while. Vaughn turned a corner, pointed his crossbow towards the area and saw a masked man with a cape neutralizing the vampire intruder by cuffing his hands together and rappelling him from a stairwell. The masked man took a look at Vaughn and used a grappling hook of some sort to make his escape. Vaughn ordered his men to take care of the girl and the Vampire, and Vaughn chased after the vigilante.
He jumped from building to building, and Vaughn followed on the streets, slowly gaining up on him. The vigilante made a tight turn, and Vaughn had to follow. He knew he wouldn't catch up to him unless they ran out of buildings or Vaughn made his way up one. When he had the chance Vaughn quickly pulled himself up a stairwell. When he reached the top of the building, he saw nothing. But he knew the man was near, he could smell the aftershave.
He heard the sound of a cape and followed in that direction; the wind was on his side tonight. Vaughn chased after him, and called out "Wait!" he said with a loud yell, "Who are you!?" He hoped the man would stop.
Vaughn looked at his outfit and thought there was no way he could be a man. An immortal maybe? That explains how he outmatched a vampire, considering vampires are stronger than humans. Or maybe he was just quick and had finesse. But in that suit? Vaughn found this all unbelievable, but he continued running after him anyway. He could feel some sweat pouring down his forehead, but ignored it. This man was more important.
"Wait up bub!" He said, in another blind effort to make the man stop dead in his tracks and confront him. Perhaps he was hiding something, or perhaps he was a coward.

He stood firmly on the building it had been a slow progressive night for Damian, he'd been scouting out some various businesses that he had deemed shady. He'd already stopped an attempted murder earlier the man had put up a struggle but Damian had restrained him and flew off into the night.. It was 3am and Damian was stood on the old opera house, He'd seen a man dragging a woman in here and now he was preparing to make his entrance, He'd stood at the glass ceiling adjusting his cape and his mask.. He'd done this before but it always was different each time. Damian jumped through the glass, shards went everywhere as he landed on his knees his cape fluttered as he stood and the man looked at him with a look of mix of shock and awe. Damian walked up to him and kicked him in the chest knocking him through some of the old wooden beams.
"You've messed with the wrong people.. You must pay for this..." Damian looked as the man got up and came at him with a wooden beam.. Damian dodged out the way and swept the man off his feet, the man was slightly more competitive than most of his opponents and Damian struggled punches and kicks echoed through the building as Damian had finally tied the man up. Damian untied the girl and heard noises coming towards him.
Damian darted down a hallway leading towards the alleyways as he ran he heard voices coming towards him and he kicked open the door looking around for a sign of anybody lurking that may try and stop him. He stood in the alleyway the noises had died down and he stood there his cape moving in the slight breeze.
Somebody had reared the corner and pointed a crossbow at him as he looked at the man he fired his grapple towards the building closest to him, he repelled up the building and could hear the man coming after him. Damian had no trouble evading the man until he reached the third building. He saw the man coming towards him and shouting for him to stop. He'd stood on the edge of the building allowing the man to see his costume more fully as he looked at him through his mask..
"Beautiful, isn't it? " Damian said putting his voice off so in case the man had met him without his costume he'd still have his secret identity protected. Damian put his arms out and back flipped off the building as he landed on the ground he looked up at the man and ran off into the darkened alleyways.

Vaughn was in pursuit of the masked man. He had been tailing him for what seemed like forever. The vigilante must have been getting a little worn out, he was covered in thick armor looking plating. If he wanted to, Vaughn could have fired a few bullets in the man's direction, or even unload a clip of bolts into him. He doubted the costume could deflect it all, or even be able to withstand all of the force that would be driven behind them all.
Vaughn watched as the man leaped across a wide gap between the buildings and rolled as he landed. Vaughn stopped, looked over the ledge and then backed up to get a running start. When he reached the end he pushed off with his feet and hurled himself across the gap, but he knew at the peak of his jump he wouldn't make it. He reached his hands out, hoping he would catch himself on the side of the building. With a mighty thud against the side of the building he managed to catch himself with one hand, but felt a crack in his shoulder in the process. He let out a mild roar and threw his crossbow on top of the building. With a jolt of his body he grabbed onto the ledge with his other hand and slowly pulled himself up. When he reached the top he sat on the ledge, grabbing onto his shoulder and looking behind him. That would have been a nasty fall had he not grabbed the ledge.
Vaughn stood, grabbed his crossbow and looked around. The rooftop was large, dark, and quiet. There were few buildings around, and he was sure he would have heard the sound of the grappling hook had the vigilante moved out of the area. He knew he was close, he could smell him faintly. But where he was, was unknown to him.
He pulled out his motion detector and equipped it onto his crossbow, looking around and back down at the sonar blinking screen.
"Where are you bub..." He said as he walked slow, steady, and cautiously on the rooftop. ------------ Words: 364

Damian had been avoiding the man with the crossbow, they had been having their own game of cat and bat, but now it would have to end.. Damian clung to the shadows to mask him as he watched the man make it to the top of the rooftop. Damian looked down at the streets below them, he'd never had someone chase after him like this and it was an exhilarating chase apart from it had to end. Damian stepped out from the shadows and charged at the man kicking at his legs and then receding into the darkness once more.
It was now a game of how long the man would last before he gave up the fight against this creature of the night, Damian hopped up on top of one of the higher buildings and looked down at the man. "It ends here. " Damian spoke his voice echoing across the rooftop as he pulled something off of his belt and threw the small batarang he'd made as a prototype as goodbye note. Damian stepped up to the ledge looking back at the man he heard the crossbow fire as it hit him in the leg he fell from the ledge his cape flying in the wind as he hurtled towards the ground grabbing onto a ledge at the last second to stop his fall he climbed through the window of the disused school building which had been closed for a long time. Damian felt the back of his leg as he pulled the bolt out and tossed it onto the ground, he groaned slightly as he continued walking through the building.
Damian kicked the dusty desk out of his way as he walked towards the broken door and kicked his way through it letting out a groan as he proceeded through the classrooms.
The man had probably began his journey to find him, but Damian had the advantage of the head start, he wasn't going to be found out not today. Not by a man that looked older and familiar from his past, Damian would look into the man later on but now he needed to make it away from here.

Vaughn looked around. Nothing. His motion detector was all but quiet. Either the vigilante wasn't on the roof, or he was still. What was he afraid of? Vaughn wasn't out to kill him. He had no reason to. Vaughn let out a breath, a puff of cold, crisp smoke left his mouth. He put a hand up to his communications link, a beeping sound initiated from the device upon use. "Lt., once you are all down cleaning up down there I'll need a full sweep on my location immediately. Logan out."
Vaughn heard something, but wasn't sure what it was. Soon after, his motion detector went off. Vaughn jumped backwards, seeing only a dark mass launch towards him. Raising his crossbow up to his sights he fired. He didn't wish to fatally injure the man, just cripple him in some way. If he was successful, then he could be interrogated.
He hopped up onto the building that Vaughn knew was where he was undoubtedly watching him from. He took a running start and jumped into the building next door. When he entered he noticed the wreckage of a room. The masked man had to have gone through here just recently. Vaughn heard shuffling down the hall. Was he injured? Perhaps one of his bolts managed to land a hit on him. With the press of a button Vaughn retracted the crossbow into a smaller, more carry able size in which he then placed it in a holster on his back. This time Vaughn would be the hunter. Forming up int he darkness Vaughn watched the Vigilante as he made his way through the building. He waited for the opportune moment to strike.
He had no doubt in his mind this vigilante had been well trained. But there was only one way to find out just how well trained he is. Vaughn followed him into a large, abandoned, factory-like room. He entered and walked into the room. The door shut behind him with a slam. Vaughn turned in time to see the Vigilante rappel into the ceiling banisters.
Vaughn looked around the room and circled himself. "If you come down now, this doesn't have to come to blows. I know you're injured. What is it you're running from?"
It was only a matter of time. Vaughn was prepared for a fight, if there needed to be one. In fact a part of him wished it would be a fight, at least then he would know what he's up against.

Damian jumped over the railing and landed as his cape wrapped around him, The pair of men exchanged blows over the course of the evening but this was the longest they had stood in front of one another-- Damian threw his fist into the man's face and he kicked Damian. Of course they didn't want to hurt each other but they needed to one for Damian to escape and the other for a the man trying to peruse him.. He would go gentle on this guy though.. Damian threw another punch into the man's abdomen and he squealed in pain.
"Let's not stand on formal ground... I'm Batman.." He roared as he clasped his hands together and threw them into the man's chest like a hammer.. He shot across the room and Damian threw another projectile at him, it hit his boot and the man didn't even seem to notice. Clearly both men had been trained to fight both of them in peak condition. Damian grabbed the man and threw him onto some of the old desks breaking him through it as dust and wood sprang every direction. Damian backed off and kicked the guy in the chest as he coughed the dust away.. He'd almost let himself get caught and in turn he was having to beat this man up. Admittedly he'd figured he was up to something shady when he heard him call some man a Lieutenant..
Was he part of a gang of drug overlords.. he looked the type.. Damian took some of the man's hits his armour blocking out most of the pain he still grimaced from time to time. Letting out grunts of pain.
Damian and the man had been fighting for more than an hour, the room was broken and cluttered their bodies had been put through hell and Damian stopped fighting and looked at the man. "This ends here, no more fighting. " Damian spoke as he lifted the man up with the remainder of his strength dusted him and the man off before picking the projectile out of the guys boot. color=494949]"Souvenir, of our brief time together."
Damian spoke as he began to walk towards the door his cape flying behind him. Damian muttered under his breath away from the man.. "Until next time Vaughn.. " Damian spoke quietly as he remembered Vaughn's face from the past. [/blockquote]

He was used to taking blows, both from boxing and hockey in highschool and college. He was also used to delivering them back, just as hard if not harder.
Vaughn was now sweating after an hour or so into fighting. He had taking off his jacket, and now attacked the man in only a dark-tshirt and jeans, his pistols still around his waist. The vigilante threw him through a desk. He took a moment to readjust, wiping the blood from his mouth. As the man came over Vaughn sweep kicked him onto the ground, grabbing both hands and axe-punching him into the chest. The man let out a gasp and then rolled. They took a moment getting up. They were both tired and worn out.
He was helped up by the Vigilante and dusted off. Claiming they were done fighting. He pulled out a sharp metal object the shape of a bat from Vaughn's boot and took it with him. Vaughn let out a snarl, and the vigilante walked towards the door turning. He then said Vaughn's name. How did he know?
A rush of rage and adrenaline ran through Vaughn, he ran towards the doorway, towards the Vigilante as he had his back turned. He tackled him out a window. As they fell Vaughn delivered a punch to his face, again, and again. Glass shards flew next to them, and they finally landed on the road with a loud thud. The Vigilante managed to break Vaughn's fall. He rolled over, breathing deeply. That was either the bravest or stupidest thing he had ever done. He slowly got to his feet, stumbling over to the Vigilante he had now rolled and was resting on his hands and knees. Glass was crushed underneath Vaughn's shoes as he walked.
"Get up bub, I'm not through with you yet."

Damian stood up under the crunching glass, the man was more primeval since they'd last met, this was going to be a beautiful night.. And victory was going to be his. Damian turned and elbowed Vaughn in the face as hard as he could; "How'd you like me now..." Damian turned as if he was leaving again and then darted towards Vaughn and slid between his legs tripping him over as he stood up behind him and stood on his back.. Damian brought his foot down twice not painfully but just to show The Wolverine where he belonged on the ground… Damian grabbed Vaughn by the feet and tossed him across the room.
Vaughn had thrown hits back after charging him across the room and Damian took the punches and the kicks he threw, their strength was almost equal so the damage they did to each other would have some lasting effect. He grabbed Vaughn by the collar and looked him in the eyes and head butted him before tossing him again. Damian wasn't winning but he wasn't losing, they both had been drawing against one another.
Damian stopped to breathe for a moment, and Vaughn came charging into him like a rugby player and he slammed him against the wall. Damian roared once more and slammed his fists into the face of his opponent, The Wolverine and The Batman had been dancing the fighting dance for two more hours and Damian was almost finished with him or so he'd thought. Parts of his mask had been ripped in the conflict and bits of his armour had various tears in them, He'd needed to get out of there before Vaughn learned who he really was..
Damian looked and Vaughn and panted, his face was covered in cuts and blood as was his own, they'd been fighting for no reason but this wasn't a cause for alarm. Damian swung around and kicked Vaughn in the chest with his fullest force sending the old friend hurtling through the dry wall.. Damian stepped out onto the raining street as Vaughn lay there bits of wall underneath him...
"It's over. " Damian spoke he was still putting on a voice as he saw the sun rising slowly in the background.. Damian reached and grabbed his grapple hook from his belt and fired it towards the top of the building as a group of men and the supposed Lieutenant ran towards Vaughn as Damian flew off towards the top of the building.

*********************** The Gym *********************** It had been a few days since his encounter with the Vigilante in the streets. The reports on him have been low, so he figured maybe he had moved on. Perhaps their encounter scared him off or perhaps Vaughn injured him more than he thought.
It would be a normal day, or at least he hoped it would be. He'd go to his favorite gym not too far from his house, do some cardio, some bench work and then leave a few hours later. It was enough to keep him in shape, get a good sweat going, and let off some stress. He had taken it easy for the past few days to let his muscles recuperate. But he still Hunted. So perhaps it wasn't too easy.
He made his way inside, flashing his membership ID and smiling at the cute receptionist girl before making his way to the locker rooms. He wore a tight blue under-armor shirt and some shorts with running shoes. Vaughn grabbed his water bottle, stored his keys and wallet into his locker and went to the gym area.
Walking upstairs he could already smell the welcoming smell of sweat the gym had to offer. It wasn't a pleasant smell but it was too be expected. For a moment he wondered how many of the people in here were immortal and knew his face. But then again he didn't care. It was his day off. He made his way to a small area with mats on the floor. He leaned against a wall and began to stretch. He could feel some pained muscle mass from the fight a few days prior, but he did his bet to ignore it. A pretty woman came by him and started to stretch next to him. Bending over and backwards and trying to show off. Vaughn gave her a smile before leaving the area. He guess based on the feeling of being watched, but he suspected the woman was checking him out. He would never know for sure.
Down the hall he made his way back into the main gym area, past the bathrooms, scales, water fountains, and vending machines. As he entered if by a stroke of luck a Van Halen song came on and was blasted in the gym complex. Instead of running around in the indoor track like usual he decided to run on the treadmill instead. He found one in the middle of two beautiful women about his age. Turning it on and stepping up to it he turned the dial so the speed was well beyond theres..--Didn't hurt to show off.
He glanced at them both, giving a smirk. They smiled back and innocently they flashed their hands at him, revealing their wedding rings. They stepped off and walked away together, as if they were friends or perhaps to giggle about Vaughn's failed attempt. He let out a broad smile and a laugh. Oh well, he thought to himself.

Damian had let his body rest ever since that night, but that didn't stop him doing exactly what he did at night. As he came down the stairs he grabbed his sports duffle bag and proceeded to leave his house. He'd recently purchased himself a motorcycle and decided to take an express route to his local gym.
Damian had arrived not to long after starting his journey, not many speed cameras could pick him up as he hopped off the bike and began towards the gym. Damian had been toe to toe with an old friend and now he was finally getting back into the swing of working out. He'd started by relaxing in the pool taking a light swim, half an hour later he'd proceeded to get out of the pool his swim shorts dripped over the side he'd not run into Vaughn since their encounter that night and he was glad for it seeing an old face from school especially after beating them had their own repercussions..
Damian had been feeling thirsty so he'd walked towards one of the vending machines in the lobby and grabbed himself a power drink as he stood there his body still wet from the pool.. Patrons had been looking at him and he continued about his business he didn't care he was dripping with water; "You can all stare as much as you want.. As the owner i have certain rights to do as i please regarding standing here dripping wet.." He smirked as he walked back to the cafeteria area.
