The skies had began their decent into a crimson evening. Ripley Hunter stepped out of his car. As soon as his foot hit the pavement the steps he took shook fear into those that knew he was coming. And they didn't expect him to be so confident in meeting his own the group of young hunters that set before him. "Old Man.. We've come from the compound to bring all loose ends back." The man looked at Ripley hinting he had his weapon in his jacket. Ripley stood there and looked at the group of men standing between him and his warm cup of coffee.
"Excuse me boys, i think you're missing your curfew... Me on the other hand I've got a nice pot of coffee and a meal to partake in.. So I'd advise you to step out of the way.. Or I'll spread your brains over this pavement." Ripley's voice spoke to the gentleman as he pointed his fingers at them mimicking a gun. "Bang. Bang.." He laughed as he walked closer to the leader of the group and smacked him hard in the face. His body hit the floor like a sack of shit.
Ripley saw the other two men walking towards him and he smiled softly as he grabbed them by the shoulders and knocked them into each other.. They had been stunned and he gripped them by the neck pointing their faces toward each other. "Now Kith..." He slammed their faces together and released them dropping them to the floor.
Ripley took pride as he walked into the dinner.. Customers still looking at him. before looking back down to whatever they had been doing.
"Cup of Joe, Mary... I'll be in my booth." Ripley spoke as he sat down in the booth and waited for her to bring him his drink. After a short while he had sat their stirring milk and sugar into his drink smiling away as he ordered himself a meal.

He had heard of a few of the Hunters in the area going to a diner to eat and socialize. Vaughn thought he would join it. It didn't hurt for him to meet with some of the younger hunters and gain some friends or allies. He rode closer to the diner in his Harley Davidson. The sounds of a roaring engine echoed throughout the darkened streets. Scraps of newspaper that lay littered on the ground sparked up in an arc as he drove by due to the wind that carried behind him. Vaughn made his way to the diner, and spotted the Hunters who were waiting for him. Another man appeared and stepped out of his vehicle. It was another Hunter no doubt, and he looked familiar. Vaughn turned off the motorcycle and stepped off onto the curb. A single ray of light shine on his face from a nearby lamp post.
He watched as the man managed to take out the group of Hunters, for what seemed to be no real apparent reason. Vaugh walked up to the group that lay on the floor. "If you come inside do it at your own risk. I'd advise to stay here or go back on your Hunting routes." After he finished speaking the hunters nodded in agreement. Vaughn made his way through the door, and spotted the man that had beaten up his men outside.
Vaughn ordered himself a cup of coffee and sat on the opposite seat of the man in the same booth. He took out a few packets of sugar, ripped off the tops and poured it into the coffee. He then took off his hat and set it down on his lap. "Hey Mary can I have a slice of apple pie?"
Mary gave him a thumbs up and went to the back.
Vaughn looked up at the man and lifted a glass to his face, taking in a deep sip. "So, is there a reason why you harassed my men outside?"

Ripley had been sitting there for a while calmly stirring his boiling drink, he'd felt the time was right and he should have finished those men off but he'd figured a warning was suitable enough. Ripley had been sipping on his drink softly until a figure he'd had recognized had approached and sat down in the same booth as him. Ripley sat there ever so quietly sipping away at his drink until finally he spoke.
"You want to know why i put bad people in their place..? " Ripley sarcastically spoke to the man in front of him... "You see... those men out there are nothing but petty rapists and thieves... I'd stopped them from harming a poor girl not too long ago, I'd put a bullet in one of their feet and told them if i saw them again it'd be their skulls and not the foot.... So if you condone their actions my good sir... I think you need to rethink who you hang around with " Ripley replied in his cold usual tone. As he'd been talking someone had put the juke box on and House of the Rising Sun, had been playing through the diner. Ripley stood up and walked over to the jukebox and slid a coin down in it making his selection before returning to his previous position. Bad Moon Arising began to fill the air instead as Ripley gave the hunter his thousand yard dead eye stare.
"So, do you associate yourself with rapists and thieves because if you do, i will not be reformed of my actions good sir." Ripley finished his drink and placed it back on the table asking the waitress for a refill.. Ripley had been waiting for the group to come find him.. He just didn't know they were sponsored by some man pouncing around in a trench-coat and riding a motorcycle.

Vaughn stared at the man as the pie was placed in front of him by Mary. He turned and gave her a smile before looking back at the man across the table from him. Rapists and thieves? Vaughn had no idea of their actions.
"I don't condone their actions. Can you tell me where you saw them committing this crime? Excuse me for not believing a stranger right off the bat." Vaughn dug his fork into the pie before taking a bite. The apple cinnamon was sweet, sugary, and the pie was warm. Straight from the oven, he thought. After a few bites he stopped and took a sip of his coffee. He could feel himself becoming more awake almost instantly. Perhaps it was something triggered in the brain to make him think he was awake. Or maybe the coffee acted just too damn quickly.
"I respect you for what you did. I'd have done no different. But I'd ask that next time you come to me so that I can handle them properly. Would you consider yourself a 'Hunter' sir?"
He had to make himself sound inconspicuous, just in case he wasn't really a Hunter from the Compound. He had a feeling he was, and his face looked familiar from the old records. But it didn't hurt to ask. For all he knew this man was a Rogue Hunter. As of now he was still a stranger, and his words couldn't be trusted. At least not yet.

Ripley watched as his cup was refilled and he blew on it as the man began talking to him again.
"Son.. I don't give a damn about your respect, i wouldn't shine my boot with it..
I did what had to be done and i wasn't going to personally seek you out to handle a matter such as this.." Ripley wanted to raise his voice and tell the man where he could shove his respect but he wasn't going to make a scene in a public diner. He sighed and politely sipped away at his coffee once again.
"I've done a fair few things in my time son, i like the occasional trip to find something game-wise if your referring to something bigger than a bear and something that should be deader than a doorknob..
I've taken my fair few cracks at those fellers too.. But may i inquire as to what you want to know about my business, personally i don't find it right to learn what others do in their own personal time i prefer to keep myself to myself..
But heed my word... If you don't deal with those boys out there... Let's say they might have a little hunting accident of their own.." Ripley replied in his sarcastic tone almost cracking a smile at the man before placing his cup down once again.
He wasn't going to sit here and listen to a nobody telling him about changes to the hunting community, the truth was he wasn't interested the first time around as he was excommunicated for his beliefs in kill it till it don't get up anymore. "Now boss, you got anything else to offer or can i enjoy my solitude." Ripley snarled as he looked across to the man.

Vaughn finished his pie and drank his coffee, looking at the man. Was he trying to be a dick? Maybe it just came naturally to him. He understood completely that the men outside did wrong, and should be punished, but he wasn't about to let some man do it. It was his responsibility to punish them, not his.
"Look bub, only I punish and direct my men. You thinking you have any authority over me is bullsit. What those boys did were wrong, and they'll be punished severely. But if I see you lay another finger on any one of them, there will be a problem."
He eyed the man and gave him a rude stare. He didn't enjoy being talked down to and someone else thinking he had any right to say anything about him or his men. Sure, Vaughn acknowledged the man was upset because he believes his men might have done something wrong. But they were his men under his command. Just because he's a Rogue Hunter doesn't mean he can do what he wants.
"Seriously, you should have some pie. It's pretty damn good, best pie in the city.--" He then switched topics, and became more serious again. "I lead the Hunters. I know you're a rogue. But if I hear you causing problems..--Well, lets say I've required a particular set of skills, skills that I've required over a very long career, skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my men go, that will be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will find you, and I will kill you."
Vaughn leaned back, picking at some pie in his teeth with his tongue and stared at the man. He had no idea what his reaction would be. But if it was a brawl he wanted, Vaughn would not disappoint. With the hunt being slow today, he was itching for some action.

Ripley slowly clapped his hands sarcastically, he looked towards the man and nodded his head; "Son, don't you go around bubbing me because you may have learned a few skills in your pathetic career.. But i can tell you straight I've probably got more skills under my belt then you boy.
I've been through the heart of hell and i shot Satan in the eye socket before i left, so before you may find me and you may try to kill me.. But listen closely i will break you in ways that no man should be broken.. Then and only then will you have my permission to die. " Ripley spoke in an assuring voice letting the hunter know he was all business and he wasn't going to be scared of him. Ripley called the waitress over and asked her to bring him something edible that had just come off the grill. Ripley sat there in silence after threatening the man, Ripley wasn't particularly scared of men that liked to through their weight around and he wasn't about to start being scared now.
Mary had brought Ripley a plate of fries apologising that nothing was cooking up yet and he handed her a few folded dollar bills and shot her a smile. He'd always tipped her well and she treated him right when it came to anything concerning the cafe-- Staring at the man he could tell he'd seen a few things but his eyes still had some humanity in them.. And his eyes did look familiar.. Ripley stared coldly at Vaughn and began eating his fries.
"And i won't have a slice of as today, Ted is behind the counter and he always malts hair that wind up in the pie.. So if you find a hair in your dessert I'd be concerned " Ripley smirked as he pushed his fries foward towards Vaughn.

"That isn't a concern of mine anymore, I already ate it" he said, letting out a chuckle
He looked over the man. He was gruff, had been through a lot, and had a dark past. Vaughn knew this much, if not for the look in his eyes but at least because of his appearance. But nevertheless, the man before him had taught him so much, and been strong when no one else could be. He was the sturdy wall the family needed.
"So what made you come back Dad? And what alias are you using now? Get over it like I did. Mom was captured, it hurt, and it still does. But I still treat the Lycans and Vampires like humans unless I have reason otherwise. Why can't you? You can't blame the actions of one for them all...."
He took a sip of his coffee and licked his lips before looking back to his father.
"I know you believe mom is still out there somewhere as an Immortal. But if she was, don't you think we would have found her by now? Or some sort of trace? Take a break dad. You're wearing yourself thin. You know what dad? I hope you have more skills than me, I really do. Because with the way you treat people, I wouldn't be surprised to find you dead one morning in a ditch."
The words left his mouth like a bee sting. He felt bad, and hoped his dad didn't take it too personally. His dad had always a tough attitude, but he loved him regardless. Plus he owed all of his training to his father.
Vaughn looked out the window and noticed his men starting to walk away from the diner. He had turned off his communications link since he was inside, but perhaps they had matters to attend to elsewhere. Or perhaps his dad was right about their whereabouts. Either way he knew who they were, and if there was something odd about them he would get to the bottom of it.
"All..well all anger behind dad, it is good to see you. At first I didn't think it was you..." Vaughn took another sip and peered down at his old man. My god had he aged. "Have you seen much of my brother? I've lost some contact with him a while ago." In truth he hadn't spoken to his brother for a month or so.
Vaughn knew his family wasn't the tightest, but the realization of it kind of upset him. He wanted to talk to his brother again, and go drinking like he used to. He also wanted his dad to move on, and perhaps find someone for him to get his mind off of mom so he could be happy. Vaughn knew he probably wouldn't go for it, but perhaps if he did meet someone worthwhile he would change his mind.
"So what's the plan now Dad? You got any leads on where mom is? Or did you come back just to see how I was doing?"

Ripley had almost forgotten what it was like to be called Dad, he'd neglected his sons so much after losing his wife and he knew that his son was trying to reassure him of course Ripley knew how his son felt but he had feelings of hate that not even words could keep him cool it was a hard time and his son's words echoed through Ripley making him realise that he'd brought his children into his own twisted world of hell and he knew that Vaughn knew he still loved his children even if he did leave them behind.
"I'd heard some leads had popped up and I'd been keeping tabs on them.. I may have also been spying on you if and when i get the time you know i still care about you and your brother…" Ripley sighed as he pulled out a pocket journal his son had been trying to wound him with words but he was used to them he knew his son meant well but the words he spoke had been like daggers into his ever beating heart, he opened the journal and passed it towards his son.
"I... I know I'm not the best of person to be around but sometimes i just can't help it.. It's been a long time since I've been civil with people i have my resources and i have my own friends and hunters that i rely on now and then.. I haven't heard word of your brother either, I've got some men tracing his whereabouts but that's all i have.. But onto the matter at hand.. I've been tracking a coven of vampires and there's a barn not too far away from the city it's got a small nest and after setting up some bugging devices I've found out they have been collecting ritual sacrifices for the past week." Ripley put his hands out and pointed to the detailed map he had sketched out he'd knew that his son probably wouldn't want to jump at the chance to hunt with his old man but.. Ripley wanted to experience the old days like before he left.
"Son.. Would you care to join me on this little escapade, I'm not extremely sure but i think we could find a lead in the nest and extort the information we seek from him... Unless you feel you want to sit this one out... and as far as alias go I'm Hunter, my birth name until I'd changed it a few years back.." He smirked and pushed aside the plate of fries and turned the pages of the journal and looked towards his boy.. It was a touching family moment.

Vaughn took some fries from the plate and started to eat them one by one. It had been a long time since he's had any real one on one connection with his Dad. Vaughn took a quick glance at the journal and studied it closely. Could this perhaps be where mom has been this whole time? If this were the case, why has it taken this long to find her?
"Dad...even if we do find her...How do you know she'll remember you? She might have moved on. She might have tried to forget about us. There's a reason why we haven't seen her sense."
Vaughn popped another french fry into his mouth, and then another. He didn't realize how hungry he had actually been. The diagram his father drew looked quick and half-assed, the details were slim and hard to make out. But that is how his father acted. He got things done when he needed to, and he was diligent, even if he didn't seem super professional.
Then his dad asked him to join him on a Hunt. Vaughn could count on his hand the amount of hunts he's been on with his father. Was his father trying to connect with him? Perhaps he felt bad for leaving them on their own when they were old enough to move out. His father always urged him to get a college degree, and not join the military because he didn't want Vaughn facing those kinds of horrors. But overall, he wasn't there as much as he could have been. Perhaps he's making up for it now.
Vaughn shook his head, but then looked up at his father. He didn't want to disappoint him, even though his mind told him otherwise. But he cared for his father, and truth be told he wanted to spend more time with him, even if he knew it wouldn't last.
"Alright, fine. I'll go with. I'll expect full detailing, I don't want any surprises."
He knew the chances were slim of finding mom. But he didn't want to let his dad down, and maybe being there, even if his mother wasn't, would help him feel better.
