He faced the Lieutenant and patted his shoulder. "Don't beat yourself up. We're going to change this place, together. Hopefully there will be less casualties. I suggest you get some rest Lieutenant. Tomorrow is going to be a long day."
Vaughn took another whiskey bottle in hand and walked out of the bar area and down the stairs towards the barracks. He navigated through the winding, dust covered halls to a room just before the barracks. The Commanders room. The Lt's room was next door, and connected through a door. Before anything else Vaughn locked the connected door and then took off his long trench coat, relaxing. There was an old wooden coat rack next to the main door. It looked like something one would find in an old detective movie. He placed the trench coat on a hangar on the rack, and dropped his hat on the top.
Vaughn walked to his desk and was hesitant on reading more Hunter profiles, and going on his laptop for back-checking. But he resisted the urge. Instead he walked back to his bed and laid down, relaxing. He popped his boots off of his feet and they fell hard on the ground. The bed was actually pretty comfortable. A lot more comfortable than he thought. it would be. It didn't take long for him to drift off to sleep. In the back of his mind he knew that what he said to the Lt. was true. Tomorrow was going to be a very, very busy day.
