As it was it was lucky that Gia didn’t have to drive, if she had been driving now then she would be hurting but it was no bother for a passenger to put down the internal sun protection, the mirror generally used for a gal’s make up but thankfully blocked the bright glittering light from her vision. It didn’t matter too much then, she sat comfortably on the huge seat, eyes resting on the man that sat next to her. Finally she was getting every chance to perceive him fully. The scent of him filled her nostrils, her olfactory unit overloaded by the scent of him and his life, of the car… so many scents.
”I’m in IT. Corporate stuff, nothing interesting but people who can’t use a computer pay me to do it for them.” She grinned as though they really were idiots. The fact was people in corporations had paid her to work for them but she always disappeared soon after, any contact with them was minimal, preferably through computer. In the end they always wanted to track her down and make sure she wasn’t working for someone else, in the end it wasn’t worth the effort of hiding oneself really.
The scent of blood washed through the window, drowning out the smell of masculinity that washed over her from her companion. But there were other scents too, she could smell it once the smell of the accident disappeared and her mouth stopped watering.
…One seemed mildly familiar; he must have met someone she knew? Could she scent werewolf somewhere in here? She couldn’t be sure, it didn’t matter how good her senses were there was room for mistakes and there was no way she could be sure. Instead she logged the information at the back of her head in that little database, further suspicion creeping up her spine and making the hairs on her neck stand on end. Rubbing her elegant hands across her arms to stop her getting goose bumps a small smile fixed itself onto her face, default expression number one when her mind was elsewhere.
”No, but admittedly I think I’d rather be naked than wearing these” She sounded disgusted for a second as she picked at the old sweater that was wrapped around her. Thankfully it looked like it had once belonged to some sportsman of some kind but he must have been much smaller than the man she was seated by now. Then again the man beside her made her look like a china doll and yet she had been tall for a woman when she was born, it was amazing how much people had grown in the last couple of centuries. Embarrassing too, maybe if she had proper nutrition then she would have been an actual half decent height instead of a midget.
”Don’t worry, you won’t need to know after. We can go back to yours and I’ll be gone when you wake up.” She waved a hand without hesitation, leaning back against the stiff back of the chair, completely at ease. As much as anyone might try to get at her, it was easy to evade when you didn’t give too much of a fuck about anyone or anything other than the pack. There was a small temptation for her to reach inside of her bag and find one of the long cigarettes she was prone to smoking. Cigarettes would have been intolerable to her if she were out away from the city, out in the country side but the way things were now she felt sometimes like her senses were being drowned and overpowered. Smoking reduced it for a little while, if not long.
Instead she gave the newly introduced Logan a nod of thanks and reached forward to pick out a pair of his sunglasses, slightly too big for her but she did her best to pull them off at least. Raising them up slightly to give him a wink she answered his question about money. ”Unfortunately for you I have my card, else what was the point of getting my purse? Don’t worry, I’ll still owe you for the ride and the pleasure of your company of course.”
When they passed the scene of the accident Gia didn’t look, she kept her face turned away. The thing was she could deal with blood when she thought of it as prey but looking at a human’s blood was hard for her, part of her thought of her children, if it had been their blood. ”it is.” And yet part of her was dying to go and find the corpses and tear them apart, hungry as all hell for human flesh. After over two centuries she had learned to control the moderation of her cravings, her longings but she was far from infallible and when humans were lying there bleeding the true wolf in her took over and she could consume them without a second thought.
She could only be pleased when Logan sped forward to overtake the gawking bastard ahead that seemed overly curious in the pain of others. In fact she positively grinned at the burst of speed Logan put on as he raced forward in the car, the roar of the engine filling her chest and rattling her ribcage. Her own musical laughter tinkled out, clear and melodious like bell tones, her hand covering her lips as she gave in to the giggles. The rush of speed in the car was almost as exhilarating as the rush of speed beneath her paws as she sprinted through the forest, she could only imagine how it would have been on a bike.
”Shame you didn’t, though a bike is very intimate to give someone a ride on.” The corner of her lip curled in a small smile, an eyebrow flicking up for a moment. ”Not that I’d have been complaining much.” Her voice was low, barely audible as she added that to her sentence as they pulled up to park in the shopping mall, the smile on her face not even flickering as the moment they stopped she pushed open the door and dropped out of the cab with the grace of a cat.
People were noticing her bare feet on occasion, pointing at the strange woman walking next to the tall and handsome man. Without a pause she danced forward with lithe poise, slipping between people. She moved quickly for being considerably smaller than Logan and her way seemed naturally unimpeded through the crowd. It was almost strange, some people with their backs to her seemed to get this sudden feeling that someone was watching, someone was approaching; the tingle of someone glaring into the back of your neck… the feeling of being prey beside a predator, the survival instinct of humans. Most of them just interpreted it as needing to move out of the way and stepped away from her with barely a second thought, leaving the path clear for both of them.
It didn’t take her long to find her way to Segals and straight into the store. She got a glare from the shop assistants and considering her current attire it wasn’t surprising but ignored them and continued looking chirpy as she pulled Logan with her into a rush of designer clothes. ”Promise, give me five minutes, I’ll grab something and then I can find a way to thank you for helping me out.” She smiled and instantly found herself focussing on a pair of extraordinarily tight skinny jeans.

Corporate Stuff. Such a bland term that could mean just about anything that has to do with being part of a corporation. F0r a computer-junky she looked quite attractive. In fact it was a little bit hard for Vaughn to keep his eyes on the road and not watch the woman's friendly facial expressions. He was having trouble trying to picture this woman as a Lycan. It just didn't seem to fit.
"Interesting," Vaughn said as he neared a corner and turned sharply. "I'm a College Professor. You could think of me as a modern day Indiana Jones," He said with a chuckle.
He noticed the way she sat and moved a little uncomfortably. Could it have been something he said? Perhaps she got a whiff of him being a Hunter, somehow. He shook his head, letting out all the paranoia and suspicions leave him. He then looked towards her arms, realizing she had gained some goosebumps. She rubbed them away and looked away from the window. Was she sensing something she didn't want to? He had no way to know for sure. She wouldn't tell him anyway, especially any real secrets.
"Hey, you need the heat on?" He looked over towards her, waiting for a response but then looked back towards the road.
”No, but admittedly I think I’d rather be naked than wearing these” Vaughn let out a laugh in response to what she had said and looked at her with his stubble face and sunglasses, spotting a large and friendly grin. "Admittedly I think I'd prefer the same" he said as his grin turned into a smirk, changing gears and the Jeep jolted back as he sped forward.
He looked at her when she replied to him and said, ”Don’t worry, you won’t need to know after. We can go back to yours and I’ll be gone when you wake up.”
Vaughn looked towards the road and then back towards her, giving her a warm smile. "I'd prefer if you were still there, actually" Vaughn said as he roared up the engines and passed up another vehicle, looking in the rear-view mirror to see if he could spot a reaction out of the man. Of course there wasn't one. Or at least one that he could discern from the cars behind him. He wasn't necessarily paying attention, but playing it off like he was. He was of course more interested in the woman besides him.
She brought up his motorcycle and he let out a slight smirk. "I agree, but I didn't think today was going to be a nice day out. Otherwise I would have brought it out. I'll have to get my Chevelle running. Then you'll feel some power."
As they entered the mall Vaughn noticed the people staring and pointing at them. He didn't know why. Was it because the woman was barefoot? Or were they wondering why a hot piece of ass like her was hanging around a guy like him. He didn't care. He shot back looks at them and even pointed at people pointing at them and gave them a friendly wave. In doing so he made the judgmental people look like jackasses, and brought some laughs to himself.
"Alright, alright" he said as he sped up to catch up with her. "I want to see what you're getting though. I'll be the judge." He said as he gave her another wink. He was playing with her, but at the same time he couldn't help but flirt. He followed her down the isles, going through womens clothing and this and that. He spotted a student of his an aisle down, but didn't make eye contact with her.
He watched as she pulled clothes off of the racks and held them up to her, Vaughn would shake his head and give her a grin. He knew anything would probably look good on her, but he wanted to play and tease her. She seemed to enjoy herself anyway. Then again anything in this store was better than what she was wearing now. She looked like a drug addict or even somewhat homeless with her current outfit. But she pulled it off nicely. Perhaps it was her body type, her face, or her glowing hair. Something though made her seem more attractive. It could have even been her quirky smile.
"Ooh I like that", he said as she pulled an outfit off the rack and out in front of her. "You should try it on." Vaughn was now spotting a really wide grin, smiling at her the entire time. He was having fun.

A college professor? Her unusual ‘saviour’ was a college professor? She couldn’t help but be a little surprised by that considering so far, perhaps if she had met a college professor she might have been more inclined to stick in at college. She had done degrees in her time but she had ended up doing them all online instead of actually in college itself. Indiana Jones might be a good comparison; he had the same ruggedly handsome looks at least. The smile flickered over her face as she considered that for a moment before answering. ”So, what do you teach, Bullshitting to cops 101?” The small smirk played over her lips but she kept from giggling aloud at least.
She managed not to shudder at the various scents washing over her, including the scent of blood from the accident that they were way past now. With a deep breath she pulled herself together and the goosebumps faded, her hairs stopped standing on end and she returned the gracious, mildly playful smile to her features. ”It’s just the hangover making itself known, don’t worry.” In fact Gia was already feeling better, werewolves had great metabolisms and she had burned her way through most of the drugs that she had been given last night thankfully.
”You’d rather I stuck around? Well aren’t you unusual.” In her time she had met more men that would rather fuck and disappear than stay around, maybe because she was never particularly attached, maybe because they didn’t like a gal that could throw them against the wall. Not that she did but sometimes hiding her strength, particularly in that situation could be very difficult. It was hard to form a real attachment with a human too when you had to go running under the full moon, they’d ask some very odd questions, get very suspicious. Gia had given up on long term relationships with humans these days and werewolves weren’t much better.
When he went to talking about his bike, she couldn’t help but laugh at the phrase ‘feel some power’, a small laugh that reflected something internal. Bikes might be powerful but there was nothing like your four paws slamming into the earth, claws digging up the soil as you sprinted through the forest, there was nothing like the power of your own body. ”I bet, still I’m sure there’ll be plenty of summer days you can enjoy it on.” She smiled mildly, maybe she should try getting a bike herself, it might be fun to drive it out through the town, and she figured her fast reactions would make it easier to skip queues in traffic and all.
As they blasted through the crowds in the mall, Gia couldn’t fail to notice that Logan was in fact doing his best to make the assholes that stared at her feel like assholes. The smile on her face was widening honestly, Gia couldn’t help but enjoy herself even with the risk of hanging around with Logan, she really didn’t know why he was being so nice to her, why he had lied to protect her. It was disconcerting honestly considering but what could she do, after all she had to find out how much he knew, why he had done it all or she’d be in an even bigger risk. If he was just a regular human that had seen her change… her life would be over here unless she killed him. Gia couldn’t help but doubt that he had seen her change though, goodness knows how long she’d been sleeping in the alley in her human form.
”Alright, I’ll give you veto power.” And as she showed him outfit after outfit her mind raced, planned ahead although it didn’t show on her face. Despite herself she was having fun. Finally when he came to an outfit he thought was acceptable and told her to try it on she simply nodded. She moved to lift up her shirt and turn around so he would only see her back but realised that she was in a rather expensive store and while she might be quite comfortable in her nudity, they probably wouldn’t. That and her body was a network of small, thin scars, nothing too big or obvious but he’d see them if she just stripped off there and then and since a lot of them could be claw or tooth marks it probably wasn’t a good idea. Hell, she even had wolfsbane burns up her thigh, they were pretty bad, they’d heal in a few more years but they were taking their sweet, merry time.
”Two moments.” And she slid into the changing room, flicking off the clothes she was wearing and pulling on the new, close fitting but modern clothes, a massive improvement despite her lack of a bra. She slipped out of the changing room and ‘struck a pose’ before laughing and looking down at herself. ”Could be worse right? Better than what I was wearing before.” And without a moment’s pause she sauntered sinuously to the counter and handed them her credit card, talking quietly to one of the girls that happened to have seen her shopping in there before. After a little small talk she was turning away from the counter, sliding her card away and turned back toward Logan.
”You wanna get out of here, do something more interesting than clothes shopping?”

The store was huge, a lot bigger than he had expected. Truth be told Vaughn wasn't much of a shopper, in fact he hated it to tears. Maybe if Gia sticks around long enough, she might find out. As they walked down misc. aisles he could feel a headache coming over him. It could have been the lighting of the place because it was fairly bright. He didn't know where he was at, the aisles were packed together with clothes racks that went levels high.
"I have a doctorate in Ethology--I study animal behavior. I don't mind it. I'm no Archaeologist like Indiana Jones though. "
He didn't know if this was a clothing store or an amusement park. Never had he been in a place where he felt so vulnerable to an attack. She led him to an area that had dimmed lighting. Or at least it was dimmer than where they were at. Due to her height, he had to navigate through the jungle of bras, panties, and other assortments of underwear to find her as she weaved in and out of the aisles.
After a moment he felt like he lost her but when he passed through a wilderness of shirts and dresses he found her immediately on the other side and just about knocked her over--or at least ran into her and she put on a disguise like she was about to be toppled over. What human can honestly knock down a werewolf? He wasn't Hercules.
She finally managed to pick something out that he liked. He nodded his head and let out a large childish grin. For one he knew the outfit would look really good on her, and two he was ready to get the hell out of this place. As much fun as he did have with her on this journey, he was ready to leave. She pulled up her shirt about halfway before stopping and looking around. Was she seriously about to change here?
He felt a surge of disappointment as she led him to the changing rooms. She slipped in and after a few moments she was in her new clothes. He had to admit, she had record timing for getting undressed.
She gave him a playful pose like she was showing off and he let out another grin. "Looking good--I'm kind of missing your clothes almost falling off of you though," He said as he noticed her knew outfit seeming to fit a bit tighter. But it was a lot sexier and more revealing.
She made a comment about her current attire being better than what she was wearing before. Playfully he said, "Well this outfit will be a bit harder to take off" he said as he eyed her tight clothing. Immediately after he let out a chuckle.
Gia pulled out her credit card and paid, but then she made some chitchat before they started to leave. As they walked down towards the entrance of the mall the people who once stared and judged her didn't even notice.
Vaughn watched as she threw her sunglasses back on and he did the same. "What did you have in mind?" he said. He felt a grumble in his stomach and knew he needed to get some food in him soon.
"We can always go out to eat and take it to my place. I can show you my bike." He wanted to show her more than his bike He was starting to feel attached to this woman. She was very attractive, that was for sure. And Vaughn hadn't been with a woman in a few months due to Hunting and being a Professor, but he felt it was something more than just lust. Perhaps he would share something with this girl.
As they walked out of the mall and into the bright sunlight, Vaughn had almost forgotten she was a werewolf. He turned and watched her for a moment before revealing a slight smile.
